I want to buy a hard copy of the most updated NRSV with Apocrypha (catholic ed.) Any suggestions? Not a study bible.
thanks,
mm.
I’m writing a review of this Bible and highly recommend it as far as editions of the NRSVue go: https://www.amazon.com/Apocrypha-Premium-Goatskin-Leather-Collection/dp/0310461502/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1M0DDU0XSU26Q&keywords=nrsvue&qid=1666402872&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjMxIiwicXNhIjoiNC4wMyIsInFzcCI6IjMuNjgifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=nrsvue+%2Caps%2C104&sr=8-3
The comfort print font is bold and really easy to read. Love the page quality, the gorgeous art gilting, the spine hubs, and the goat skin cover.
Hey Brian? Excuse my ignorance. What do the letters "ue" mean after NRSV

Updated edition. It was just released in the past few months. First update in about 25 years.
Thanks!
this is not a study bible, is it?
Do you have your information/review that I could read? Do you want my email so I could read it?
I probably won’t have my review finished for a few days but check out Tim Wildsmith‘s review on YouTube. I would also recommend Mark Ward’s YouTube video on some controversy regarding the updated edition before you invest significantly in a nice version. Ward’s video is stellar.

No, you don't! You want to buy the NRSV Ecumenical canon edition - it includes all the books of the Anglican, Lutheran, Catholic, Greek Orthodox and Russian Orthodox Churches. It is my primary Bible for study. [Okay, you are free to ignore my advice but ...] NRSVue, Holy Bible with Apocrypha, Leathersoft, Brown, Comfort Print: Zondervan: 9780310461494: AmazonSmile: Books and similar editions would meet your hard copy needs.
If you would like to read a rabid anti-NRSVue anti-NCC anti-LGBTet.al. review see Beware Liberal NRSVue Bible Translation Update - Juicy Ecumenism
If you would like to read a balanced description of the process creating the NRSVue see After 30 years, the NRSV gets an update: Here’s what that means – Baptist News Global
I can find plenty of reviews that fall between these.
Yep, that one looks like a solid affordable option. Same 10 point font as the premier edition as well.
Don't I?
Give me a link, please.
Fair enough. But help me to understand what the differences are between your suggestion and Brian'.

Regarding NRSVue, just search "NRSVve and controversy' and you'll get a long list of angry, angry bees. The translators messed with a hot sin.
But the article from Bible Gateway is good reading, as to what base was used, etc. Specifically for the hebrew, Quinta, but DSS touch and go. I thought that was interesting. ISV did use some DSS, if memory serves in the Psalms, etc.

I don't know your interest in the Apocrypha, but good reading as to how the NRSV and NRSVre differ (scroll dooooown).
The link I gave was the ecumenical canon not a Catholic edition. I also updated the post with reviews.
what the differences are between your suggestion and Brian'.
Mine is much cheaper ... I suspect they have an identical canon but on the one I suggested I could verify the canon in the preview ... in Brian's I couldn't verify the canon.
OMGoodness.
How hard can this be?:)

Cost is not a factor.

There is no Catholic edition of the NRSVue.
As such, the most up-to-date Catholic edition of the NRSV is the NRSVCE. One is available here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0785230432/
I don't own that one, so all I can supply is a link. That publisher also has ones that are not large print, that have different colours, etc.
My new acquisition.
What do you think about the color / cover?
Happy so far?
Well, and maybe I'm not the only one to do this. Every time I get a new book, I open it and smell it. I hope I'm not the only one.
Great text size. super clean layouts. Even though it's not genuine leather, it's soft and not too hard. It comes with two ribbons each with a different colour. Headings and chapter numbers are in a nice looking reddish/maroon colour. Words of Jesus not in red. Each new paragraph begins with a red-coloured number.
Overall, perfect. thanks all for the help. now on to watch the rest of the World Series (go Phillies) all the while as I thumb through my new treasure.
That Baptist News article MJ quoted does a great job. It is surprisingly thorough.
MM, here's my review of the premier collection one. It's on sale for half off right now.

Fantastic - Looks great! [:D]
I presume the hot sin to which you refer is the "manned" controversy. You might want to watch Bart Ehrman's interview of Jennifer KNUST, who was one of the general editors of the NRSV-UE NT. Here's the link. https://youtu.be/j5hSIsMnxxY
Cheers!
