Possible to eliminate title bar in full screen on iPhone? (did v9 have this same title bar?)

Hi - in the v10 mobile app (on my iPhone - not sure about other versions or platforms), there is a gray title bar displayed even when in full screen mode (it actually displays as almost black in the pic I've attached, but it's definitely gray on the phone itself).  First - am I misremembering, or did this not happen in v9?  And either way - is there any way to turn off this title bar, to show only the actual text being read?

Hi Dave, there is not a way to turn this off. This is the minimized version of the title bar. It's minimized to give you more screen space when reading, but you cannot turn it off because, when maximized, it allows you to access other parts of the app. If you would like to vote for this to be a future feature, please feel free to create a suggestion on Faithlife Feedback.

When I first saw your screenshot, I was in full agreement with you... until I opened the app and saw what was going on. Do you have a brand new pro iphone with Dynamic island? The screenshot is misleading for most iphones becasue of the "notch." Even at smaller points, it takes up no more than about a line and a half of space. However...

you cannot turn it off because, when maximized, it allows you to access other parts of the app.

I think I'd want to keep it as is, but from a UI persepective, the maximized version should be irrelevant. The app currently moves from a maximized to a minimized title bar, but it could just as easily move from a maximized to no title bar.

I don't know what specifics apple has with their UI style guide. It may be that the resource name could be moved up slightly to give a little more reading space... I'd want to see it before committing my opinion on it.

For comparison, in the screenshots below, the smaller point would possibly have 1.5 lines added at most. The larger would barely add a single line of text.

Thank you for replying! Is what it is - but before I file it as a change request, does anyone still have v9 installed, to be able to check if it was that way in 9?  Would like to mention that history in the request, if so (pretty sure the bar disappeared entirely in 9 - I even remembering the notch interfering occasionally; perhaps that was the intent, to deal with that).

Here are images from the Logos 9 app on my iPhone: one with and one without title bars.

To transition I simply tapped the screen to hide/show the title bars. You can see from that a total difference of nearly 4 lines of text at the top and 2 lines of text at the bottom.
