Lost a sermon?

I'm hoping someone may be able to help.

I've been working on a sermon doc for the past week or so. In the midst of working on this doc, I updated to 10.

While now working in 10, yesterday morning I exported a powerpoint, and a handout. Then closed the software. When I brought up the software to teach last night, the sermon is gone. I can open the history and find a sermon by that name, but it has no content.

Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear this - but hopefully we can get it back

Try opening the sermon document - the one without content and then:

Click the information button
select the version history button (the icon with a clock face)

From there you should be able to get back to a previous version of the sermon which hopefully will restore what has gone missing for some reason

Unfortunately I'm unable to get it through those steps.

When I click on the title in the history bar, it launches a document named "Untitled Sermon(#)". Each time- and the numbers simply increase.

If you open your Docs menu does the sermon appear there? My guess is that it wont but I just wanted to check.

If it doesn't appear there then the actual document has been deleted (apologies - I thought that the document was still there but that it had no content)

if that is the case, then I suggest going to documents.logos.com in a web browser (log in, if required, using your normal Logos credentials).

Then filter the information displayed so you select Sermons and Deleted (as below). From here, you should be able to undelete the lost sermon (hover your cursor over the required sermon to cause the undelete button to appear)

Make it a habit to “title” your sermons as soon as you start writing them. You have one too many “untitled sermons” there (if there’s no content on those, just delete them).

Graham’s last instructions should help you get it back.

Actually- that's the strange thing. The "untitled sermons" were creating themselves when I clicked on the sermon titled "the reliability of scripture". IT seems to have restored now however.

I think that's because while the history entry was still there the actual document had been deleted for some reason

I'm going to have to add my thanks. I woke up yesterday with my sermon for the day deleted and your instructions helped me recover it.I thank you and the Lord Most High.
