Notebook Proliferation Bug
I'm a long-time Logos user, using L10 on a Mac OS 12.6. This problem has been occurring at least since L9. When I add a note to an open notebook from the context menu dropdown list, Logos opens a new notebook panel instead of simply placing the note in the one already open. Here's the sequence:
- I have a notebook open, entitled “Theology.”
- I find a paragraph in an open resource, entitled “Systematic Theology.”
- I select the paragraph in “Systematic Theology.”
- I right-click to get the context menu.
- The context menu shows the “Add a note” dropdown, listing the five most recently used notebooks, including the notebook “Theology” which I currently have open.
- I select (click on) the notebook “Theology” from “the five most recently used” list.
- Logos opens a new panel for the notebook “Theology” and places my selected paragraph in it as a new note.
- Now I have two instances of the notebook “Theology” open, and the most recent does not have the filters, etc., set the way I had them, but instead is back to defaults.
- If I repeat this process, a new panel (instance) of the notebook “Theology” opens every time I save a note to “Theology” in the Add-a-note drop down menu. Before long, I have a six different panels open for the notebook “Theology” and I have to start closing them.
This has become a great irritation and growing waste of time. So far, the best that faithlife customer service has been able to do for me is suggest a workaround that bypasses the context menu and five-latest-notebooks drop-down list altogether. But then, what's the point of the Add-a-note and 5-latest-notebooks list, if it's got a bug that makes it not worth using?
I've not seen anyone else bring this problem up, nor did customer service suggest that it's something they're hearing about. Is it just me?

weekly bump in hopes additional attention will lead to an answer
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

This happens when I have a notebook open with additional filters.
For example, if you have your Theology notebook open but then also have used the drill-down menu to show only notes instead of highlights, or some other filter, the context menu will open up a new instance of that notebook. In my experience if you leave your notebook open without any other additional filters the context menu will direct its attention to that panel alone.
