What to do?
Please enable diagnostic logging and post logs in a reply to this thread immediately after a crash
(Use the paperclip icon to upload the logs)
Details on logging are at https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027869132-How-to-Enable-and-Submit-Log-Files

I will do that. I already moved the App to the Trash and installed it again. It is still crashing.

That is very rarely a fix For the desktop app.
That's one of the options to solve the problem on https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007923512-What-to-do-if-Logos-Crashes-Mac

Thanks for the link. I can see why you'd think so. Here is what it says: "Most 'crashes' occur if Logos is out-dated and has not had an opportunity to auto-update. They can be avoided by manually updating or replacing the application file."
Since your issue happend on the current build, all you ended up doing was to redownload the same build you were already using.
Graham is right that logs are likely needed. It isnt hard... see my signature line. However, you could try loading to a blank layout. Press and hold the command key immediatly upon startup. If that does not work, do grab the logs.

When I do that, it starts, but if I try to choose any layout, I get the spinning wheel, and the application stops responding.
I already sent the logs. I hope they answer soon, I really need to work on my software for my research.

One thing you can try is to delete/move the layouts folder found on your mac—
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Documents/RANDOM/LayoutManager
Logos will redownload the layouts upon starting. It might be that you have a corrupted file on your SSD.
Also...you can post the logs to this thread (using the paperclip icon). There are a lot of users who can read those logs and determine your problem.

The forums are user support. If you want fellow users to assist, you will have to enable logging and post the logs in the forum. As for sending in the logs... which logs did you send? To whom did you send them (i.e. which email address)? If you just clicked a button after the crash ("send logs"), those go to Apple, not to Logos.

As Levi suggested, you could try moving that one specific folder. If you are worried about doing so, you could also see if building a new layout from scratch works. If your issue has been layouts all along, then loading a corrupted layout will not do you any good.
There may be a different issue invovled, but no one will know without the logs.

Thanks - but strangely there is no indication of any problem there at all.
Hopefully someone from Faithlife will be able to comment further.

This sounds like the application is hanging and not crashing. Looking at your logs, it appears that you have updated to Ventura and that the layout you were trying to load contains at least one Search panel with the content scale set to the smallest value. We have recently discovered there is an issue on Ventura with the Search panel when the scaling is set to a value other than 100%. If your menu is on the left, you can try either expanding or collapsing it (opposite of what you currently have it), opening a Search panel and changing the scaling to 100% (two notches from the left), then loading the layout you were trying to load.
If you are still having issues with the application hanging, in order to determine what is causing the hang, can you please make sure you have the latest version of the logging utility (1.1.2), which can be downloaded from here, run Logos until it hangs again, then click the sample button in the logging utility. Once a sample has been collected, please post those logs here so we can see what is going on.
Thanks,
Martin

Hi! It is here.

I am not seeing any sample data in the logs that you just uploaded. Did you click on the "Sample" button in the logging utility?
Also, from the logs it looks like you didn't change the text size for the Search panel like I suggested in my previous reply. Can you please follow those steps to try and reset the text size in your Search panels to 100%.

I did that, and it was not working at all before. I was advised by the tech team to create new layouts because all my layouts appeared to be corrupted, but everything is working now. I could even return to the layout I was working on, which I could not open at all!
Interestingly, none of my layouts appear on https://documents.logos.com/0 -

No.

Layouts are not documents.

Is there any way for the user to know if the utility is out of date? Can a pop up be added?
There is not any update framework in place for the logging utility as it was something that I wrote in my spare time to make it more convenient to change the logging setting and gather sample data or logs. Fortunately there haven't been any changes necessary for years and this update was only necessary due to the [lack of] interaction between the Intel logging app and an Apple Silicon Logos/Verbum app for sampling purposes.

Deleting the contents of:
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Documents
Worked for me! My Logos Bible Stofare 10 was unusable (hanging/not responding).
Using Logos 10.0.0.0240; MacOS 13.0.1; M1 MacBook Air
