getting the NIV bible for iphone
I have the platinum version of Logos but on my iphone I don't seem to be able to access all of my library. Specifically I don't have access to all my translations of the bible. If I do have them on there then I'm not able to find them. Any suggestions???

Jeremy, Logos needs special permission from publishers to deliver books to the iPhone app. The NIV is one that has not been given permission yet, Logos is trying. More books are being added regularly but it is a process and there are no guarantees that all of Logos' catalog will be delivered to the iPhone.

It is interesting that all the newer Zondervan titles (to my knowledge) are available on the iPhone/iPad, but the NIV still isn't. Personally I have stopped using it because of that and split my time between the NASB95 and the ESV.
As often as this question is asked, it would be nice if Logos was a bit more informative as to where they are in the process.

Zondervan doesn't own the rights to the NIV, they've licensed the rights to exclusively distribute it in North America! (Probably in return for helping to fund the CBT's work)

So you are saying that Zondervan is not the one that Logos has to get permission from?
Regardless, an update from Logos on where they are in the process would be beneficial to the customer base who keeps asking the same question.

I'm saying it's possible that the rights of Zondervan to sublet NIV distribution in North America probably don't extend to web distribution since Logos does business globally. I'm not privy to the exact details of the contracts [:)] but I think it probable that there are multiple parties that have to sign off on the deal for Logos to add the NIV to the iPhone.

That is my point Kevin, you don't know, I don't know, the only one that knows is Logos. Whether it is Zondervan alone (My guess), or Zondervan plus others (your guess), neither one of us really knows. If Logos would give us some solid information (Where we are in the process) we could pass that along to all of the people who keep asking, as it is, all we can pass along is our guesses.

What more should customers expect? Detailed minutes of the meetings along with dates and attendance information?
The fact that they are working on it is likely all they can say or should say. If a deal was immanent, then maybe they could say, We think it is coming soon. But I doubt that it is.
