How do I Search for Names using LN Range but exclude Article in the Analysis view

Hi,

I am trying to search for all NAMES in Acts 8 as an example here. However, I noticed that in the Analysis view the ARTICLE is included as part of the search result. So, in this case Philip should only occur 13 times, but, it is shown as 24 times.

Is it a bug or is it something else that I do not understand. How do I exclude the ARTICLE here.

The Greek article is included in the lexical unit translated by a name as you can see by the search highlights with an interlinear of the manuscript text. I doubt that this is considered an error in the search, but I don't know Greek.

For quick reply ... understand now, it is part of the lexical unit.

I misunderstood that if I am searching by LouwNida number and range, I should get a LN result, much like the results in the other views (Passage, Aligned, Grid).

It is clearer what is going on in this screen shot:

The program simply can't return a partial lexical unit. Faithlife could treat the article as untranslated (a dot) rather than aligning it to the name. I don't know what their reasoning was for their alignment, I only know the effects it has on the results. It gets really odd when one searches on the article:

Thanks ... What I was looking for is to answer one of the inductive question WHO within Acts 8:1-40

The result I was looking for is something like:

Philip (13)
Simon (4)
Jesus (3)
Isaiah (2)
Peter (2)
Saul (2)
Stephen (1)

I can almost get what I wanted, using LN Range "louwNida:93.1–93.388" for the passage Acts 8:1-40, and display the results in Analysis View where I can sort by results. Except that the associated Article is bounded within the same lexical unit that MJ pointed out. So I got double hit for such situations.

I was trying to find a way to filter the Article away for the search result.

Searching for the Article, certainly should not return the Names.

I discovered something else strange to

(1) When I hover mouse over the name Philip, the pop up shows both the name and the article in my screenshot

(2) However, when I do a right mouse button click on Philip, the context menu only shows Philip, the Article is not there

For now I will manually filter away the article [:)]

actually the article is there - but the section in your screenshot is closed
