Verbum prices...

Is anyone else finding that they can't see the cost of a Verbum upgrade without the features - i.e., library only?

For example, before I took advantage of the 30% on L10, the price that was showing for Verbum Academic was about $367, which I knew couldn't just be the library because at that price I would only be getting 21 new resources. If I add the package to the cart, it still shows the same price. So I asked a sales rep, and they told me my actual cost for that particular package would only be $67, library only.

So why are the prices for Verbum libraries only not being shown? It seems like customers who don't want or need the full feature set are going to be automatically put off by big prices for a small library. Surely it would be in FL's interests to offer both options.

I'm glad you pointed this out. I didn't notice it before. I will say that I've got FL Connect (and probably will stay that way), so I typically don't look to buy the features. What is missing from the Verbum packages, it seems, is something analogous to this option:

I've pretty much given up on trying to figure out their strategy ... books, features, datasets. Which?? A little of this, a little of that. Tremendously useful for the mice in a maze. Cheese-hunters.

I think you have to call to get that price. Or perhaps they aren't sold seperately.

Yes, that is my understanding. But I can't figure out the logic behind it from FL's perspective - since the Logos packages aren't set up that way, and since it seems more likely to be a deterrent to potential buyers, surely it must be an error.

I know that I can call and get a price, but for my interests that is impracticable. I like to keep a spreadsheet of all available packages and their discounts so that when I am buying more books I can make a more informed decision. I doubt that a FL rep is going to appreciate me requesting the dynamic pricing for each of Verbum's packages (including ordinariate, academic, etc)!

If nothing is heard from FL on this, then I will probably repost this on the website section of the forum - probably where I should have posted it to begin with...

Jordan, are you looking on verbum.com or logos.com? I'm not sure I'm going to be able to full answer the why behind it all, but I do want to assist if I can!

I have the same issue as Jordan. I am a Faithlife Connect subscriber, and I just had a look at verbum.com and the base packages there are also showing the price as including books and features.

Both on Logos.com and on Verbum.com, FL connect members do not seem to have the Library Only option available with all other (non-verbum) packages.

Hi Mitch, thanks for your reply - I think the previous two posts identify the problem. I have FL Connect as well, so it appears that a library-only option for all Verbum packages is not available to Logos Now and FL Connect subscribers.

Mitch, I've discovered that this problem extends to the L10 Counselling packages as well. No option to purchase without the feature upgrades.

I've found that the situation is the same with the new German and French base packages.

I am also a Faithlife Connect subscriber and as far as I can remember I have always had to buy the non-English libraries together with the feature sets. Not having the option to buy a Verbum library only is indeed a new situation.

Yes, I think I remember that being the case now. I think they should make the non-English libraries available on their own if one already has the feature sets, but I grant that is less likely to happen. Hopefully they will address the Verbum situation.

It took a while to get him to understand what the issue was where the pricing page did not reflect that I was a Connect subscriber. I asked for price for Verbum 10 Silver and indicated I wanted the others as well. So with dynamic pricing the price for me is $92 vs the $462 displayed on the product page.

In years past I did not encounter this issue as I purchased Verbum and Logos packages during the sale. Anyways I am still waiting on a promised email giving me the prices for the other package levels.

I indicated to him that Logos is probably losing sales as the price showing on the web page might spook potential buyers.

FYI - I called them today after waiting a week for an email reply.

I placed an $28 order for Verbum Bronze, library only. I think you need to persist and keep calling in. I mentioned that they should fix the page and maybe generate more sales.
