BUG: L10 conversion of Andersen-Forbes Genre criteria in Visual Filter
The search arguments on this filter were identical except for values; now there are at least 3 variants in form, none of which work. It is rather annoying to have lost this filter as it is a nuisance to reconstruct.

It is a mess.
And a mess that, although FL made it, it is me that will fix it.

I tried a few values without success, and the auto-complete was not helpful.

Thanks for the report; I'll try to figure out what's going on.

Mea culpa 🤦
When we made the data type changes corresponding to the in-place update of Andersen Forbes version 0.95 to 0.97 in 2012 we did not retain the old titles for backwards compatible reference parsing. The search syntax conversion is exposing that these searches have been silently failing since that time
I think for most of the references I can add the old titles to restore backwards compatible parsing in an upcoming release, which should fix most of the rows in your Visual Filter document as long as they have not been edited (the useless conversions are not saved back to the document unless edited.)However there were also additions and changes that you may want to account for. At http://www.andersen-forbes.org/352.html I found Improvements for A-F Versions 0.97 (http://www.andersen-forbes.org/media/2b2f0ee07a4ab6e7ffff8041ffffd524.pdf), which has a good description of the changes on pages 2-4.
Based on that documentation I think we also need to rename "Genre" to "Text Type" (while retaining "Genre" for backwards compatibility!)0 -
Thank you. As my Andersen-Forbes filters are shared, if I have edited any I can recover the original. Thanks for the explanation. I will anxiously await the resolution of the problem.

The fix is slated to be included in RC 1 next week. You should find that all of the queries convert to valid v2 syntax except for Psalms to God. I could not find any value to map that to, even going back to the Libronix data type.

Are there any plans to go with the latest release, foreshadowed here and apparently already available here.?

I spoke to Rick about this. Apparently, the update is not backward compatible with the version we had, which complicates things for us. We'd probably need a separate product and a new datatype. We're still evaluating whether that would be worthwhile for our customers or whether it would create confusion if there are two incompatible versions of AFAT.
