Cannot get Logos to work without crashing because of tmp files.
I have attached the crash logs, I have also deleted all my temp files which another forum suggested. That did not work and I have over 1TB of space on my c drive so that is not the problem. Thanks for any help

Welcome to the forums. We need complete logs to be able to help you effectively. See Diagnostic Logging (logos.com) for directions. And to make sure I understand you correctly, how did you identify the temporary files for deletion?

The error log indicates files in your temp folder at C:\Users\johnn\AppData\Local\Temp. Are these what you deleted?
The full logs as indicated above should tell us where/why these are being accessed, because it is unusual. When did this start happening?

Thanks for your help. Alright, here are all of the logs I believe.
Yes, I deleted basically everything in that location johnn/appdata/local/temp.
This problem has always been going on, on my PC, I have never gotten logos to work on it. But my mac laptop it has always worked fine.

[quote]Error detail: IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Users\johnn\AppData\Local\Temp\tmpE321.tmp' because it is being used by another process.
This appears to be the root of the problem. Use task manager to delete all instances of Logos/Logos Indexer . . .Did you use the standard installation or did you do either of the following (a) install as administrator (b) choose a non-standard path (address)?

I don't see any instances of Logos/logos indexer running? I used the standard installation I believe.

32 or 64 bit? Win 10 or 11?

This problem is caused by another application "holding" a .tmp file that Logos is trying to access. Most often this is caused by a third-party security application. There are a few security applications that have a habit of causing this problem. https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043314791-Logos-crashes-after-being-open-a-short-period-of-time-Windows
If you don't use any of the above, but are using a different third-party security solution, you may consider disabling it entirely (or quitting it if possible) prior to opening Logos to see if it is also causing the problem of those listed in in the article.
