The New Living Translation with Reverse Interlinear

Rating:

The New American Standard Bible, 2020 Update (NASB)

Rating:

Order Total: $39.98

I purchased "TNL reverse interlinear" of the NLT. I only show in library New Living Translation. The Interlinear button appears, but it appears for a number of my bibles..  did I just pay to have another button enhanced interlinear riather then an actual verse by verse interlinear???

Hi Randall - and welcome to the forums

I purchased "TNL reverse interlinear" of the NLT. I only show in library New Living Translation.

Reverse interlinears do not show as separate resources in the Library - they are avaiable within the Bible to which they relate

did I just pay to have another button enhanced interlinear riather then an actual verse by verse interlinear???

I'm not sure what you mean by a "button enhanced interlinear" - please clarify.

But this is how reverse-interelinears work on Logos.

Reverse Interlinear is functionality the Interlinear icon is access to this functionality; this is what you paid for.

    Agree.

But looking at the title page, it's an NLT WITH an interlinear (both). But the description narrows it down to hebrew only (??). And the type is an interlinear.

    Seems confusing.

Randall, welcome. Reverse Interlinears are not the same as traditional interlinears. I get the feeling you thought you purchased a traditional interlinear. Is this the problem?

I agree that the messaging around this resource is confusing on the Logos website:

It looks like there are 3 different SKUs: The NLT Reverse Interlinear, The NLT, and the NLT with Reverse Interlinear. Even the images that go with these three listings make it look like there are two distinct resources: a NLT Reverse Interlinear (containing both OT & NT), a NLT standalone (presumably without the RI capabilities?) and the combined bundle.

That does not appear to be what Faithlife delivers, if you only look at your Library listing. The website says I own all three of these products, but I have only one bible in my library matching "New Living Translation". It is the NLT with reverse interlinear capabilities built-in (which as others have mentioned above in this thread, you access by using the RI button in the resource panel).

So I can understand why Randall would be confused.

On closer inspection, however, i.e., opening the Info panel of this resource, you can see that what appears to be one resource actually involves three separate files: NLT.logos4, NLTNT.lbsrvi, and NLTOT.lbsrvi. So you do have both the NLT Bible, and the reverse interlinear files that make it work with the RI button.

The messaging still isn't clear from the Logos website, and this is a confusing concept for users to understand, especially those who are only familiar with print-based reverse interlinears.

    I hope the helps, Randall.
