BUG: Windows11 new Logos 10 install - Lost shortcut folders

Ok, longish story.

My mac can not run L10 due to an older os that I cannot update due to hardware.

I can however run most any version of Windows or macOS in a vm using Parallels.

I currently have a MacPro (Mid 2010) with Mojave 10.14.6

2 processors (12 cores) @ 3.46GHz, 128 gig ram & 2TB SSD.

I have a vm of Win10 and can run Logos in it w/no issues. Changes made in my L9 on the mac properly migrate over to the vm with Win10/L10 no issues. Same with a vm of macOS, no real issues.

My Win10 laptop also runs w/no issues.

A vm of Win11 and L10 (fresh install) however did not migrate over the shortcut folders I have set up.

Any one else have this issue of shortcut folders not showing in a new install?

Here is Logos 9 on macOS Mojave (have folders)

And here is Logos 10 on a Win10 vm (have folders)

And here is a Win11 vm with Logos10 (see the missing folders = or not see them as the case is).

And here is a macOS Monterey vm with Logos 10 installed.

It appears that the only vm install I have issues with is the Windows 11 one.

Any ideas?

It appears that the only vm install I have issues with is the Windows 11 one.

If you create a shortcut there does it sync to the other machines? What happens if you create a shortcut that matches a missing one?

As a last ditch attempt, rename the ShortcutsManager folder at ...\Logos\Documents\username. it will be recreated when you restart Logos.

    Thanks for the reply Dave,

    OK here we go...

    ML9 = Mac Logos 9

    W10 = Windows 10 Logos 10 (in a vm)

    W11 = Windows 11 Logos 10 (in a vm)

    ...

Adding a single Shortcut to ML9 adds the shortcut to all

Adding a folder to ML9 only adds to W10 and NOT W11

Adding a shortcut to W11 adds to all

Adding a Folder to W11 adds to all

Deleting a shortcut or folder in any deletes in all

    ...

Closing Logos and renaming the ShortcutsManager folder does recreate the shortcuts folder in the following paths...

    /Users/myusername/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Documents/ycnfa7hc.a6l/ShortcutsManager

    and

    C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Local\Logos\Documents\enq1vhdf.aqo\ShortcutsManager

In ML9 and W10 the shortcuts bar folders are still there in ML9 and W10  however they still do not show up in W11.

I have a couple ideas but it involves delete and reinstall L10 -or- Delete L10, install L9 (and if it has the folders) then upgrade that install to L10.

These vm's are minimal installs so should not be too time intensive, but I think I'll wait for a little bit before trying this option.

I can confirm there is a problem

    1. A shortcut folder created in W11 (V10.1 and L9.17) is not syncd to  W10 L10.1

    •      the folder created in W11 L9.17 did not sync to W11 V10.1  (same machine) and vice-versa.

    2. A shortcut folder in W10 L10.1 sync'd to W11 L9.17 but not to W11 V10.1

I have a couple ideas but it involves delete and reinstall L10 -or- Delete L10, install L9 (and if it has the folders) then upgrade that install to L10.

Don't try these options as there is a problem/bug that FL need to resolve.

    Thanks Dave!

I did not plan on doing so until I had heard back from you.

Do I need to create a BUG thread and point it to this thread (so I don't repeat myself) or did you want to do that?

Do I need to create a BUG thread

No. Look at the title again.

No. Look at the title again.

Thank you. I caught that after I had posted the above question. I just did not get time to add a "never mind" edit.

    Again, Thank you.

Thank you all for the reports and information, I don't immediately have an answer for why this is occurring but I am taking a look into this.

I too reported this same issue on Monday...spoke with a tech yesterday. After his pliable suggestions, the problem persists. Hopefully it can be remedied soon.

We have been unable to recreate this problem. Can someone please recreate the problem with a new shortcut folder, then post a log file taken from the machine where the shortcut folder is not showing up. Make sure to wait until the sync icon in the application toolbar finishes spinning.

The fix for this issue will be resolved differently for new and existing L10 users:
    1. The version upgrade to version 22 (just released today) will automatically fix this issue for users syncing data for the first time. So, new users to version 22 will never see this issue.
    2. Users with the issue today will be able to do one of two things:
    • Wait for the other fix to ship in version 23, or
    • Follow the instructions on this support page.

Delete your shortcuts.db file right now as a manual solution.

    in ...\Logos\Documents\randomnumber\ShortcutsManager  or ...\Verbum\Documents\randomnumber\ShortcutsManager

    Dave,

I've updated to v22 and synced

    - I located the shortcuts manager folder and within it are 3-files

    • shortcuts
    • shortcuts.db-shm
    • shortcuts.db-wal

which of these do I delete or do I delete all of them?

Does the shortcuts manager folder need to be renamed?

Does this action need to be completed on all of my computers?

You can delete all of them or just delete the folder. If you are concerned that something might go wrong, you could rename the folder as a backup.

You only need to do this on any computer that was not showing the shortcut folder.

Thanks, deleting those files resolved it for me.
