The most frightening thing about the L10 mobile app…

When you realise, in the middle of church, there’s a button that will instantly play audio sitting right between two of the most commonly used buttons in the mobile app. I don’t know who thought it would be a good idea to put that there (on an iPhone, anyway), but… yikes!

I won’t get into how we can’t disable it, or that there’s no option to have it start as paused.

I just want to simply ask that that button can be moved somewhere a bit more sensible. Thanks.

Edit: removed the bit about Siri voices after I found the extra options and article about it.

After watching other teachers get bitten by tech fails, I continue to teach from plain old paper manuscripts. [smile]

Definitely some pros and cons with paper! :)

After using this for a while today, I think the solution is to have it simply not play the instant the button is pressed. The placement would be hard no matter where it is, because of how it’s dynamically placed, depending on the device.

Logos, please consider as a default or as an option!

In the age-old conflict of Man versus Inanimate Objects in a fallen world, it's best to keep Jennings' Murphy-esque Resistentialism in mind and mute all sound sources on a device on Sunday mornings.

In Samsung Phones... there is a way to "automatically silence" your phone... I do it.  This is what I do...

    1. Go to home page.

    2. Swipe down 2 times.

    3. Swipe to the left 1 time. You will see "Do Not Disturb" in bottom row.

    4. Push "Do not disturb" and "hold till do not disturb screen" comes up

    5. Turn "Do not disturb" off  (option on top).

    6. Push "+" to add a schedule...

I have one schedule for Bible Class, one for AM worship, one for PM worship and one for Wed Bible Class.  I have a couple of others.... but hopefully this helps.

And I do not get calls or notices during those times.

Edit:  I don't have a problem with hitting the "read" button.....which may be different than I describe above... it has never happened to me. But I thought the above might help in other cases.
