Another tip of the day (TOTD) series for Logos/Verbum 10. They will be short and often drawn from forum posts. Feel free to ask questions and/or suggest forum posts you'd like to see included. Adding comments about the behavior on mobile and web apps would be appreciated by your fellow forumites. A search for "L/V 10 Tip of the Day site:community.logos.com" on Google should bring the tips up as should this Reading List within the application.

This tip is based on the forum post: TIP of the day: Faithlife Study Bible - Logos Forums

Think Bible Word Study in L/V, one automatically thinks Bible Word Study Guide. However, there are several other possibilities which require a bit less expertise in original languages and linguistics.

1. Barry, John D., Douglas Mangum, Derek R. Brown, Michael S. Heiser, Miles Custis, Elliot Ritzema, Matthew M. Whitehead, Michael R. Grigoni, and David Bomar. Faithlife Study Bible. Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2012, 2016. contains a limited number of word studies that includes written "results" for laity. You will find them via the Table of Contents under Sidebars > Word Studies. Example anathema:

2. Factbook has an entry for the lemma that draws its key article from Brannan, Rick, ed. Lexham Research Lexicon of the Greek New Testament. Lexham Research Lexicons. Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press, 2020. Factbook also provides Biblical sense, Factbook tags to lexicons, links to the Bible Word Study Guide . . . Example: anathema.

3. For cognates and morphological forms see The Lexham Analytical Lexicon to the Greek New Testament. Logos Bible Software, 2011. This supplements the other word study forms. Example: anathema

Note that the morphological data should correspond to that shown in the Morphology Charts. Example: anathema

Do not be misled by the title of books such as Zodhiates, Spiros, and Warren Baker. The Complete Word Study Bible: King James Version. Electronic ed. Chattanooga: AMG Publishers, 2000. which only provide morphological coding for the words.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
