Well, I saw the "How many pre-pubs do you have" post and found it very interesting to see that many people have a large amount of orders.
So, it made me wonder...how many resources does everyone have?
When I click on my Library tab in shows 1,722.
In Logos 4 Mac I have 1522, but I still have a few to come, like Greek Audio Bible.
2475 and expecting Sproul and some pre-pubs very shortly. Have been with Logos since around 1995, perhaps a little earlier, maybe 1992 or 1993 even, Logos 1.6 if I remember correctly; however memory after 15 plus years isn't exact, since I hardly ever look back! Live in the Present which is a Gift from God! *smile*
oooopps ........ Just downloaded the new Discourse Grammar, now 2476 ......... *smile*
I'm currently at 1,364 with 5 in prepub, but I'm wondering, how many does everyone use daily... I would say that I probably use around 100 or so in a weeks time.
1543....and still dont know what to do with all of them....
2768 and counting! I have some other stuff I am getting soon like the MacArthur commentary series and others.
2768
that makes my 1984 seem like rubbish LOL
about 76 less than I would have had, had I not needed to cancel a few pre-pubs . . .
1527 for me.
2768 that makes my 1984 seem like rubbish LOL
Man LaRosa, I've been with Logos for a few years so I've accumulated a small lil fortress over here. I said this on another post that I buy things that I know I don't need now, but buy them because I know I will need them later. If its something good I will get it. I know a few things that has bulked up my library was the book builder special that came out around Christmas time, that helped a lot, and the Zondervan bundle that came out. So I've done a few things to help build this lil army I have.
I have 3,072. I was hoping I was more average.
I have 3.424 in L4. L3 shows 3,900. The difference seems to be in video and audio resources that don't work in L4 yet.
5651 in L4, 6630 unlocked in L3
I have over 900 PBBs alone in version 3 but in my Logos 4 library shows 3571 with about a dozen collections I haven't loaded yet (Hermeneia, Standish, AMG Essentials, Maxwell,, McGee, Courson's OT/NT, Nehemiah Institute Worldview, Ancient Christian Commentary....etc.)
Whoa!
I was surprised to see people above 3000...but this is huge.
Us Logonians really love resources. I for one thank God for the privileged to be so blessed. True, none are truly needed other than a bible, but they don't hurt to have just to "double check".[:D]
Paul liked his books too.
2 Timothy 4:13When you come bring the cloak which I left at Troas with Carpus, and the books, especially the parchments.
4664 in L4 (started with Logos 2.0 Level 2 in '97)
... but I'm wondering, how many does everyone use daily...
Ralph,
There is a sense in which we use ALL of them, every time we do a "Basic Search" on "Entire Library", and many of them when we run Passage Guides etc.
I love it when I find something great in a title I have never opened before, can't remember I had, and don't really even know what it is ...
One I found a few days ago, made me smile.

2272 Hopeless Story Of Noah
And the Lord said unto Noah: "Where is the ark which I have commanded thee to build?"
And Noah said unto the Lord: "Verily, I have had three carpenters off ill. The gopher-wood supplier hath let me down—yea, even though the gopher wood hath been on order for high upon 12 months. What can I do, O Lord?"
And God said unto Noah: "I want that ark finished even after seven days and seven nights."
And Noah said: "It will be so."
And it was not so. And the Lord said unto Noah: "What seemeth to be the trouble this time?"
And Noah said unto the Lord: "Mine subcontractor hath gone bankrupt. The pitch which Thou commandest me to put on the outside and on the inside of the ark hath not arrived. The plumber hath gone on strike. Shem, my son who helpeth me on the ark side of the business, hath formed a pop group with his brothers Ham and Japheth. Lord, I am undone."
And the Lord grew angry and said: "And what about the animals, the male and the female of every sort that I ordered to come unto thee to keep their seed alive upon the face of the earth?"
And Noah said: "They have been delivered unto the wrong address but should arrive on Friday."
And the Lord said: "How about the unicorns, and the fowls of the air by sevens?"
And Noah wrung his hands and wept, saying: "Lord, unicorns are a discontinued line; thou canst not get them for love nor money. And fowls of the air are sold only in half-dozens, Lord. Lord, Thou knowest how it is."
And the Lord in His wisdom said: "Noah, my son, I knowest. Why else dost thou think I have caused a flood to descend upon the earth?"

3 less than I would really need, that is 3 Czech modern Bible translations :-)

Thank you so much for finding that thread. It isn't even that old. I saw that someone had 9,764 unlocked resources! Unbelievable! I would love to do searches with that library. I'm sure I wouldn't have any problem finding any topic or subject. Also, I'm sure they never have my common problem: a resource linking to another resource I don't own. [:@]
I feel silly that I posted this question now. The above thread has four pages of exactly what I wanted to know.
how many resources does everyone have?
more than I will ever have time to read in my lifetime.
Thanks folks!
I must let my wife see this thread. She reckons I spend far too much money on Logos and have far more resources than I need! [:D]
in logos 4 on my dell v13 1290 resources.
My L3 shows 4,494 unlocked resources. 1,706 of which are PBBs, a difference of 2,788.
My L4 shows 2,822.
I didn't count the 3 wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling bookcases that are jam-packed.... and more paper and electronic books are on the way.
I'll never die as there's always more to read![:P]
God bless

2953, and I have an almost irresistible urge to buy 47 more. [^o)]
I currently have 3,155 resources in my library. I'm starting a second job so I can afford to buy more.
A mere 2043.
As to how many do I use? Well, in any given week, probably 50 to 100. However, not the same hundred every week. So that is misleading. I may not use the Church Fathers this week, but that doesn't mean I will not use them. And I may not use a particular commentary until I am studying the book of the Bible that it covers. So who can tell how many of the books one uses?
I seem to recall a state senator in the 1970's who suggested cutting funding for the state university's library because "they already had more books than a boy or girl could read in four years." I tend to disagree with such logic.
I think there are a lot of other unused luxuries that I could cut out of my life before books.
Wow! what a dangerous thread...if for no other reason than plain ol' envy. I'm jealous, but I am keeping in mind that many of you have "professional" (paid ministerial) reasons to own such large libraries, several of you have been Logos users for 15+ years, PPBs account for a large number for some of you, numerous audio/video resources (L3 at this point in time), and journals can also account for several hundred to over a thousand volumes/resources in your library. I still wish I had more and am not far behind many of you as it is. If I had all my prepubs today, I would be bankrupt and have a much larger library.
I hope we can have some fun with a thread like this and not get too "caught up" in it, as we much regularly challenge our stewardship of God's great blessings to us. Of course that also includes using it (Logos) to God's glory in ministering to others. Bless you all...Michael (2443...ouch!)
...but I am keeping in mind that many of you have "professional" (paid ministerial) reasons to own such large libraries...
Also realize that there are laymen like myself who has acquired a Logos library over the years (13-14 years in my case) simply because we enjoy Bible study and research. That is reason enough!!! [;)]

Alan, I'm not sure what I have on L3 at the church, but L4-3025

Thomas, I enjoy your humor.
1865 with some yet to come in pre-pub. I don't have any PBBs in that count. I noted that the number really started to rise with things like Discipleship Journal, which alone added 150 to the total.
Right on, Otto! I have had to make some cheerful adjustments to my spending habits to be able to buy my Logos library. It was not hard to give up other interests (or obsessions?) And every time I fix the old car or lawnmower I start wondering, "What Logos resource can I buy with that savings?"
I'm with both of you on this. I'm not suggesting that unless one "profits financially" from owning such a vast resource that they are spending recklessly...God know we can do that in any number of ways, I'm stating my desire to prayerfully/carefully consider my financial stewardship. Logos is terribly addictive as so many other have said on these forums. Other that giving financially to others in need, there aren't too many better ways to invest God's money. Again, I'm just sharing that I want to be a good steward of all my resources (including money/Logos) and also (as this month's Bible Study Magazine points out), I don't want to be a studious student of Scripture just for my benefit, but to the benefit of others...making disciples of those around me too.

Hi Mike,
I can see now how my original response can be perceived that way, but it was not my intention at all to suggest that. I agree with all you are saying. The point I was trying to make is that one doesn't have to be in ministry (paid or unpaid) to use, benefit from, and appreciate a "sizable" (whatever the criteria) Logos library.
in Logos 4- 3,399
In Logos 3- 3,000 pbb's waiting to join the group in Logos 4

You are right, of course, but more isn't always better. I've refined many of my searches to include only specific resources and love the ranking system. I can relate to what you found, and on occasion will search the Library wide-open. The Journals come up with some interesting reading material, I don't think I have that specific Journal, but it made me smile too.
Blessings
Wow Ted, What do you have after you bought L4?
about 76 less than I would have had, had I not needed to cancel a few pre-pubs .
Dann, What is the result 76 more than you would have had?
I am just loving this thread. It demonstrates just how moderate, abstemious and prudent I am as a Logos user of almost 17 years. I have only 1522 resources; that's less than two books a week I've been buying! How self-controlled is that? [:D]
wow some of you have so many books - i saw someone with over 4000 !!!
i have 2438 and there is nothing more i really want - well just few things, especially some great pre-pub ones on order. But i'm pretty excited with what i have.
All i need now is all of Andrew Murray books and Austin Sparks - but logos hasn't got these in the works just yet

Tes, I have 2958. I don't really like playing the numbers game, however. A good way to boost numbers, if you want, is to buy journals. [;)]
What I DO like, however, is uncovering quality books and being able to access them on Logos. I also love hearing about books others find special that I may have overlooked.
I havebought more books based on user comments or recommendations here than I care to admit!
lol, those dad-burn recommendations!
i just upgraded to logos 5 and now have 4542
L3 ? Have not used it since L4
L4 3788
L5 no upgrade yet
For me.
Under 30 books on Libronix 2/3 by way of a third party program (Living Christian).
1719 Books on L4.
2232 Books on L5 upon upgrade with a few additions.
Now, how many do I actually use/read constantly on daily basis? About 10. [:)] The rest is good to have for deep study and occasional use.
