The release notes mention a single fix to a Mac bug. Why do Windows users have to download and install this update?

Technically I don't, but it's going to sit there as a notification to download until I do so or a subsequent update replaces it. And, if I buy any resources or have any other updates come through, I'll have to download it in order to get them. So yes, I do.

Looks like it to me.

Maybe it’s about keeping the current release number as the same regardless of platform.

Yes. It has always been that way.

In this day of high bandwidth and fast SSDs I don't mind too much, but in the times before that it was quite the headache.
And I do recall the days of Libronix when we could download resources separately from program updates.
Having to do this just to keep up, with no bug fixes or other gains, seems a waste.

My thoughts and mine only .... are to set Logos to automatically update and don't worry about it.... [8-|]

I've been here much longer than you, and while I haven't seen anything like this for quite some time, I do recall several times when people made posts: "Help! I just downloaded the latest version of Logos and now it won't open!" Automatic updates stays off, and new versions usually stay undownloaded for a few days until other people go first.

Before I got an SSD, a long restart and, as noted above, sometimes the potential to crash my setup if any new bugs crept in. Not having (or, more properly, no longer having) the option to download resources separately if I want to wait on the update. If I had a slower internet connection with a low monthly cap (again, not now, but I used to), it would be a needless waste of bandwidth.

I remember the days of 9600 baud modems.....downloads then was a nightmare.... Glad we have modernized the process... lol

I fully understand your concern and wish this weren't the case. The issue is actually worse for Mac users. The download each time is 300+MB.

Not a bad idea.
I think many spend most of their Logosian hours in downtown Mayberry ... don't see too many streets with bug 'cases' from way-back.
Last week, I decided to trust the Mayberry maintenance department (auto-update-app). Bad move. This AM, Logos didn't want to start (panel with 'please wait'). Luckily I'm experienced with the Mayberry folks ... got it started. And turned off the app-update with 'Set Update Channel to NoBugsForNow'.

Unless I'm missing something, you can download resources manually without downloading any program updates by using the Library panel.

and takes about 30 secs. I guess having the data go all the way under the sea is what slows it down?

Not for me! I only have 25mbps. Prior to Covid, 7mbps.

Thank you. Hope this fix it.

Never thought about going under the sea.... guess the water molecules interfere with data packets... and that's what slows the download down...
