Personal Book Files

I know that you can have multiple files when building personal books. Is there a limit on the number of files that you can use in compiling a personal book?  Thanks!

    Hi Michael:

If there is a limit, I don't think it has been published. I created a PB archive of S. Lewis Johnson sermons with 1200+ docxs. That's a lot.

Thanks Robert. Did you add them one at a time or is there a faster method?

The best way is to put them all in the same folder. When you click 'Add file', navigate to that folder, click on the first one, hold the Shift key down and click on the last one and click the Open button. The file names will determine each one's position in the compiled resource, so plan ahead and use file  name prefixes to force the sort order you want.

Thanks Robert. I have discovered that when you add a new book to a personal book that already has multiple files that it will add it to the end regardless of the name that you give the file. However, you can select and move the file to the place that you want it before you build the book. When you do build the book the new file will be where you placed it. This might help some people who are building personal books with multiple files. So far I have 13 files and 0 errors and 0 warnings.

The project that I am working on has multiple files.  Is there a way to delete all the files in the book and then add them in again? I want to do this so that the files are listed in the book in the sort sequence by file name. Perhaps a solution is to delete the personal book and then create it again with all of the files. Would this work?  Thanks!

I don't know of a way to delete them other than one-at-a-time (right-click in the file list and choose 'Delete').

You can drag and drop the files into the order you want then recompile the book. Just grab the file name.
