There is this:
The Life Application Bible Commentary (17 vols.) | Logos Bible Software
and
Life Application New Testament Commentary | Logos Bible Software
For anything OT it seems we have to wait for LASB to release unfortunately.0 -

Thanks Frank. Appears that is new testament only and I don't understand the difference between the $21 version and the $125 one. I would consider the cheaper one but cant afford $125 for new testament only.
The LASB is just such a great publishing. Should be available for Logos too.0 -

The former is an abridged one volume edition of the latter. Here's a comparison screenshot (the abridged is on the right):
Both of these are in Legacy Base Packages, be sure to check to see if it's cheaper (esp. the $125 one) to get a base package.

Thanks Levi. I am on the Faith life Connect Essentials and not opposed to changing that. Just trying to find my way before I have $$$ invested in something that does not work for me.
But looking around I could not see where it was included in the base packages. Are you saying it should be in the Logos 10 starter?

Messianic Jewish Bronze Legacy 8 is $80, that'd be the best way to get them at a decent price IMO. It's also worth considering that anywhere you go to get the LASB it's going to be at the very least $75 brand new at most B&M stores (Barnes and Noble, Bible Book Stores, etc). The $80 for a much more extensive commentary is a pretty good deal.
As far as the Old Testament, the only place that it's available anywhere is in the LASB. The LASB app is available for android and apple tho for $20.0 -
I have a purchased a few copies of the printed version and paid about $51.00 for each. I have LASB on a competitor app and paid $39.95.
So its just hard to spend $126 on a new testament only digital resource.
To be honest its making me think I need to go back and dig deeper into the previous app which is faster and has better interface and see if it will do some of the Logos things.
Appreciate the response.

It is worth considering that what you bought is the Study Bible notes, which is the condensed version of the condensed version.
In terms of depth, it would go (from most in depth to least)
1) 17 volume NT Life App Commentary
2) Abridged 1 Volume NT Commentary
3) Study Bible Notes.
Just for clarity's sake, Logos isn't charging $127 for a $40 resource, the 17 volume commentary is much more content than the Study Bible Notes, and the same 17 volume commentary goes on sale for $99 at a competitor's site ($19 more than buying it in a Logos Legacy Pack, which also include many more resources).
I understand what you're saying that it's hard to spend $126 on a digital only resource, but I think what everyone is trying tell you is: don't buy the NT commentary by itself, and instead spend $80 on 213 resources (including the NT commentary) and save yourself the money while acquiring many more resources. I spent a long time looking at specific resources from competitors before diving head first into Logos, the big thing that began making sense was when I understood dynamic pricing and Legacy Libraries, I found that Logos is actually much cheaper per resource than other sites (there is still some high dollar resources you have to purchase separately though, and they do stack up).
As far as the OT Life App notes, they are only available on the LASB (they never made a commentary from them, as far as I know at least). So, if you're only wanting the OT notes, they're not available anywhere on Logos for the time being but are marked as "in production". I wouldn't be surprised if they go on sale for either $31 or $35 which seems a bit common for the WS ported resources (from my limited experience).
You're in good company, many of us want to see this resource in Logos! I hope you find what you're looking for, keep checking back on the Logos pages and hopefully it'll be done sooner than later!
PS: did you purchase the LASB new for $51? I've been looking for a while for some deals on them and that's a steal, could you point me in the right direction? I seem to always only find these HUGE bulky large print ones that weigh a ton and cost a fortune ($75-$100 for fake leather even)... Maybe I need to do some more searching online and not in brick-and-mortar stores.0 -
Hey Frank,
I guess that makes sense. I did not realize that the LASB and the Life Application Commentary we are talking about was the same publisher. I just thought it was being recommended as the next best thing.
I am not trying to be critical of Logos. Yes, I feel it has some shortcomings but it certainly has some extensive data available and the linking seems to be second to none.I need to check out the other packages as mentioned above.
And yes, under $51 on Amazon. I have bought several copies. Two for myself and a couple as gifts.Rich

I do have a question regarding 17 volume set of Life application. Adding a link to one commentary is easy and simple. But how do you keep all 17 books accessible to follow your reading? If you are doing a chronological plan do you have to continually go open up the 17 books as you progress through the new testament?
Any tips on that?
I just want to be able to jump around the bible and have theses commentary resources automatically available.
I possibly using the cited by function. Also, is there any reason to have the abridged version loaded if you have the other 17? Just makes the list longer in places like cited by.

Never mind.
All you have to do is add one commentary apparently. It will switch them out automatically.

Interesting; any URLs that point out the differences in the Logos version?

Thanks David! Sorry, I meant the difference between the Logos version of the LASB notes. I'm sure there are perhaps more pictures / charts / diagrams; but I wonder if there's anything lacking?

The LASB Chrono ships 7/31! I am curious how it will work though as it pictures the 3rd edition but talks about the 2nd edition in the about. It also lists it as a Logos Reader edition though a research edition would make better sense for a study bible... no?
