I have tried to view the Quickstart videos by Morris Proctor, however, they will not play the videoson my laptop, I can listen to the audio files, but nothing re: the videos.

I have downloaded the videos to my iPad Pro and they work just fine, but definitely on the laptop.

    Bill,

This is a known issue with the video drivers of 11th Generation Intel devices. We had to turn off hardware acceleration some time ago to get web-based tools like notes working properly. Unfortunately, this affects video playback on the affected devices.

In Tools > Program Settings you'll find an option near the bottom to enable Hardware Acceleration. Turning this option on, may help you play videos in app. If that works you'll want to make sure you can still use notes and other web-based UI (Home page, Factbook, etc).

If Notes still doesn't work when you turn on Hardware Acceleration, you can attempt to upgrade your video driver. This page links to the earliest driver that will fix Notes and video playback. Beware that if your computer isn't already using a recent driver, it may be because the manufacturer of your computer has found issues in other areas when using the driver.

Please report back if you have any questions or confusion.

Thank you Ryan. I was aware of this problem for some fellow Logosians, but I had not had the problem. All is well!

I have the same issue with my Surface Pro 8. When I changed the setting, I had issues with the notes tool, so I changed it back for notes. Not ideal, but you can flip that setting, depending on what you are doing. Thankfully my desktop, which I use the majority, probably 75% of the time, works fine. I simply decided I would do any videos there and not have to switch the setting back and forth and restart the program after each time.

I have the surface pro 8 with the 11th gen chip, my logos videos are not showing but they will play the audio. I tried going to my windows settings but the acceleration switch was already on. Are there any other trouble shooting tips? And if any does have a surface pro and had the same problem but resolved it......please share screen shots. Help!!

The "Settings" referred to are the Program Settings in the Tools menu of the Logos app, where Hardware Acceleration is the last option. However, the basic problem is the Video driver and you can get the latest one from the Intel website, which will allow Acceleration to be enabled for all features of Logos.

I had this problem because I used the download everything option when installing Logos.

Open Library in full widow.  Enter quickstart in the search window

Open the Quickstart you want, expand the sidebar, and click on overview.

Pull down the three dots menu and click on "download all media"  If both "download all media" and "delete downloaded media" exists.  Delete first and then download

FYI this setting is inside the LOGOS software and not the Microsoft Windows operating system.

Within LOGOS >Tools > Program Settings you'll find an option near the bottom to enable Hardware Acceleration

    Welcome Guy

Within LOGOS >Tools > Program Settings

Your response to Ryan's post was not necessary as Logos users understand Tools > Program Settings, even Program Settings by itself.

For clarity, use the Quote button when responding to someone's post (as I have done here).
