As Logos users who are also Accordance users probably read on the Accordance forums tonight, I’ve officially joined the Accordance family on their marketing team as of January 2023. I wanted to take a moment to give a few comments here concerning my new employment.

My joining the Accordance family will not change my being a Logos user or posting to the Logos user forums, in the same manner other Accordance staff members did in the past. I have over 13,000 books in Logos, and I’ll continue to use Logos regularly as a part of my Bible study workflow and use both Logos and Accordance in my Bible study workflow. I’ll also post here to the Logos forums as a Logos user anytime I have something I need to say. I still am and will always be a Logos user as long as Logos is in business.

My purchase strategy to Logos won’t be dramatically different than before. I’ve already scaled back on some book purchases in the past since I’m now in a position where I’m making more “targeted” purchases instead of buying large collections of books. I bought the Logos 10 Full Feature Set, and I may buy the Logos 11 Full Feature Set if Logos 11 is truly stunning (although we have a couple of years to wait and see!). I still have a list of Logos books to purchase in 2023, and I plan to purchase everything on my Logos Wishlist by Summer of 2023. A handful of books that are in both Accordance and Logos, since I can likely get them free in Accordance now, I won’t need to buy them in Logos, but for the plenty of books that are only available in Logos, I’ll be buying what I need in Logos when I need it. For the journal bundles, I’m trying to decide if I keep buying them or just rent Galaxie.com each year since I already signed up for that in the past. We’ll see how quickly the Logos teams get new journal bundles up on the store. I still love my sales rep at Logos (Fern Anderson) and look forward to working with him when I need Logos books.

I’m currently a member of both LearnLogos.com and MPSeminars.com. I’ll evaluate if I need both of these moving forward (since I’ll be on the Accordance training team), but I’ll likely keep at least one of them (probably at least LearnLogos.com).

I likely won’t be able to be in on any future Logos version beta release programs, but it was fun to get to beta test previous Logos betas. There are a couple of former Accordance staff members who could take my place on the Logos 11 beta team if need be, and you’d be in great hands with them. At least now I can still beta test another Bible app and get its version upgrades for free. :-)

I’ll have fun on the Accordance marketing team, and I’m sure Logos marketing will be watching what I’m doing for them, and I’ll continue following Logos marketing as well. I consider both Bible apps to be major players in the Bible software industry and both are needed to ensure Christians can better study the Word of God. It’s great that I’ll have an opportunity to finally be a player in the field, and maybe if I get to travel to an event where Logos and Accordance has booths (such as ETS), I can meetup with some of you.
