Customize colors, more options, please

My brother-in-law and I are coming over from Accordance and noticed right away the lack of customizability in Logos with backgrounds. You do get a handful but it would be awesome to be able to customize the backgrounds and fonts more. A separate color setting for tools, fonts, dictionaries, etc. that can be saved in preferences.

Also, it looks like the tool bar color cannot be changed? An app theme selector would be a great addition as well.

Welcome to Logos/Verbum. You will find that Accordance retains much of the whiz-bang-glitter of presentation from its roots in Apple while Logos retains much of the text slice-and-dice roots from its PC roots. As a result you will find that most customization in Logos is functional not presentation. Many wish for a more presentation oriented product. Make your requests on Roadmap | Faithlife to allow user prioritization.

Those are my thoughts also. Accordance has that clean Mac feel and Logos has the busy but feature rich Windows appeal

We’ve been thoroughly impressed with Logos and I just keep finding more to like.

More customization would be the cherry on top.

I have no familiarity with accordance or these 'backgrounds' that you speak of. Any pictures or examples you can provide? I'd be keen to see what we are missing out on.

Hello Mal,

Here are a few examples of how you can customize Accordance panels, tools, etc. This is my setup. The last image is the Appearance menu. You can see that the colors are practically limitless. You can choose your background color, text color, highlighted word color, reference color. These can be customized per workspace/layout or per translation or tool. This then can be saved so that particular resource will come up in your preferred color every time you open it.

You can also customize the theme of your app, so the menu bars (in our case the navigation bar) can be changed to a more preferable color.

This would be an awesome addition to Logos.

This is not a gripe against Logos just something I'll be requesting. There is no perfect situation. My brother-in-law is thrilled about Logos ability to customize your copy and paste format to exactly how you want it. Accordance doesn't do that. So he isn't looking back.

Oh wow, I wasn't expecting that amount of customization. Looks great, it's a good range of options. Thanks for posting the pictures. I particularly like the option to selection font size (with acutal numerical numbers instead of the a - A slider logos uses) as well as the ability to customize line spacing, very handy.

Quick note: I totally get the appearance/function model. However, I am using a 32” screen with 11-12 tabs open at any given time. When there is no color delineation (or minimal color delineation), eye tracking suffers, not to mention the incredible eye strain from a background that is not suitable for my eyes. In my situation, appearance is function.

Apparently there is some small options to change colours but it will effect all resources - see this recent post. https://community.logos.com/forums/t/212991.aspx

Mmm, you should put that comment on your suggestion on the feedback site Samuel, might help make your argument a bit more compelling [:P] The argument that appearance is function is probably the best incentive to change. Also, 11-12 tabs? What are you doing?
