I'm still figuring out the search functions....but there's a quote I heard that sounds very John Owen and The Mortification of Sin (goes along with the "Be killing sin or sin will be killing you" quote).

It goes something like, "If you want to be killing sin in your life, you have to be killing all the sin in your life" or something close to that. How could I search my books for that quote? Or what would the best way to do that be?
Bonus if you know where it's from. I heard it or read it somewhere recently and I cannot find it. I even went through my browser history for articles I've read through in the past week or so.

I just did an 'All' search, using your quote, and it returned this:

Do you mortify; do you make it your daily work; be always at it while you live; cease not a day from this work; be killing sin or it will be killing you.

I'm wondering if what I read somewhere was a paraphrased expounding of that quote from John Owen....

I'd use a search term something like "sin NEAR kill NEAR life" and keep changing a word or two until I found it.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

It’s found in John Owens “The Mortification of Sin.” Many resources in Logos cite it.  I have the audio book.

“Be killing sin lest it be killing you.”

Ps. I do have the book in Spanish, and it says: “Mate al pecado o el pecado matará su paz y su gozo.” (kill sin or sin will kill your peace and joy). My literal translation.
