Why is Paul not the speaker in his epistles?

I was trying to see how often Paul speaks about a certain topic, in his letters. But when searching for speaker:paul, Logos only returned passages from Acts, not from his epistles?

  1. Why is the text of Pauline epistles not labeled with speaker:paul? Is that because of pseudepigraphy discussions? If so, Logos could stick with whom the text says is the author, and also add the label 'Paul (pseudonym)' to those epistles that are considered pseudepigraphs.
  2. Is there any other way that I can do a similar search, that would include Paul's words in Acts, as well as Paul's words in his epistles?

Because speaker: is used to indicate when someone is actually speaking - not when they are writing

Try something like grace IN (speaker:Paul OR bible:"Romans-Phil")

I think you meant:  grace IN (speaker:Paul OR milestone:bible:"Romans-Phil")

    Thanks Dave

Can you remind me of where things are at on this one?

At the moment both search strings give the same results - but is the plan to tighten things up so the milestone: is required?

I've forgotten where that discussion has got to!

I actually did not get the same results when I ran the searches grace IN milestone:bible:"Romans-Phil" and grace IN bible:"Romans-Phil". The first gave me 324 resources and the second (which took much longer to run) gave me 327 resources. So they must not be exactly the same.

Is this with a Books search?

I think the difference is more pronounced here, my focus above was on a Bible search.

I could not find anything in the Release Notes but v23 Beta 2 requires milestone to be explicitly stated (common sense!) in Narrow Reference Matching, whilst grace IN bible:"Romans-Phil" will pick up milestone results in Default Reference Matching.

    Thanks Dave

I hadn't taken the different reference matching options into account.

Bible Search should give the same results whilst Books picks up results where "grace" is part of a quote from the bible reference (stated in a footnote).
