I seem to have items in the app I don't actually own?
There are a bunch of items in my library that seem to show up only in the app. I use Verbum. I don't know exactly what they're for - maybe some kind of 'base package' - but I've looked through stuff like Verbum Basic and they're not included. The store does not recognize me as owning these books or having temporary access, and offers to let me buy them. And since they only show up in the mobile app, I can't hide them (which I *can* do with other books given as a package). Are they perhaps tied to the app itself? They're annoying, I don't want them cluttering my library.

Yes they are. They re given to mobile app users for their free usage (under a contract that Faithlife made with the respective publishers that only applies to the app) - most will probably like that they have those books available. Some may even like one or more of those books and buy them in order to have them available on the desktop, too. If you don't have any use for those, just disregard them.
Have joy in the Lord!

You'd think there would be some option to disable them, then. [^o)]

Yes, a big mystery. Back when I used to use the mobiles (2 mo ago), deleting the rascals just brought them back. Now, I'm headache-free of the silliness.

Great - what are these ways?

Well, you could filter for "downloaded." That would be the simplest, but it would not show you the resources you own in the cloud. This is normally how my mobile library is set up because I rarely want to see ALL the books I have on mobile.
Another option would be to create a user tag with whatever parameters you want. You create the tag on desktop. Once you have done so, then you filter using that user tag.
