Commentary limitation in Passage Guide?
I noticed that there's an even shorter listing of commentaries in v4 than in v3. I don't really mind this because I only use 4 or 5 commentary sets in my regular studies. However, when I select the "more" button at the bottom of the initial listing I get only a limited listing of the remaining commentaries in my library. (In v3 I'd get the entire remaining list of commentaries.) Is this intentional or do I have some setting wrong somewhere?
Here's what I get initially....
After selecting "more" I get...
I've got Scholars:Gold plus a few additional commentary purchases so there's much more in my library. Again, I don't mind the limitation as long as I know I can have some influence on what gets listed. I just want to be sure this isn't some kind of bug. Thanks for any responses!

James,
If you look carefully you will see a double navigation bar in the commentary section. You have to scroll up or down now to get your commentaries. I am not sure, but I think I would like to just have the commentary section to simply elongate when you click more. I could still collapse it if I want, but curently, I do not like the double scroll bars. Especially since the scrolling function is so slow in the Beta.

Same here. I do not like double scroll bars.

Kenneth,
Thanks! I've got to get used to looking for the scrool bars... actually I don't mind them, neither do I mind the shorten window. I wasn't too crazy about how the window expanded in v3 anyway. I guess te each his/her own. Again, thanks!

I too would rather they do away with the scroll and just make it bigger.

Same issue for me, I had overlooked the double scroll bar today even though I had seen it previously. It is a good idea and one we may adapt to but if so the scrollbars will need to be a little more visible.
But even so, there do seem to be some things not displaying. For example, PG query on Eph 4:11-12 on the Mac version will display Matthew Henry, but 4.0 is not showing me Matthew Henry. Have not noticed/looked for other things that might be missing, but I use Matthew Henry a lot and want to make sure it does not get overlooked in my preparation.

The way the PG seems to operate is that it only matches a resource if the individual verses are explicitly mentioned and hyperlinked or if your chosen verse range matches the verse range of the commentary sub-sections. This can really be hit and miss and needs to be addressed.

Yes, this is quite different to the behaviour of v3.

This behaviour persists in Beta 3. Is there any hope that this will be changed?

I've confirmed this behaviour and as Robert has said it is diferent from how v3 handles it. I hope this addressed in upcoming beta releases. It leaves you wondering if all of your resources are being consulted.

I know that there were two lots of 25MB downloads - these I saw ticking away. It seems like just the install program and three resources in the Resources folder - updated excerpts, LCV, and BiblicalThings.
I don't know if there was more.

I am not very happy, as yet, with the new passage guide. I don't get anywhere near the list of resources as I do in v3 and the collections still does not work.

I have shared some of the same frustration with those in this post. Double scroll bars are okay, when they work, but not bringing back a complete list as Logos 3 did is a bit frustrating. To add to this, since the Beta 4 version download, I can not slide the inside scroll bar. In order to move it, I must use the up or down arrow at the the top or bottom of the scroll bar section. Hopefully this will be fixed. If I try to slide the scroll bar the cursor shows up with a light grey box at the base of it. I apologize for not providing a screen print, but for some reason Firefox won't allow me to paste into blogs like this.

I've noticed exactly the same operation. I remember that earlier updates this wasn't the case; the inside scroll bars worked perfectly. I hope they fix it before the next update. [Y]
