Why are Zondervan pre-pub discounts so low?

I'd love to preorder this book, but 18% just isn't enough discount to persuade me to buy early.

Instead, I'll wait for a sale.

Yes, just wait for it to go on sale. Your prepub order does nothing as Zondervan has already funded the resource.
