Truncated TOC - Boa Handbook on Prayer

When I open the TOC on the ipod, it only shows the first ten days entries for each month. I have to manually scroll to get to days 11-31.

Am I missing something that I should click on, or is this a bug?

Unfortunately I don't think it is a bug. See this thread, which although it applies to the logos mobile website, I think is also applicable here.

BUT this makes it extremely difficult to use as a daily prayer tool for devotions which is the whole purpose of the book! This seems very counter productive!

But there are some differences, it would seem.  For instance, there are just three months in Boa's handbook, and each month is only displaying 10 days.  The problem Todd addresses in the link regarding BDAG is that each alphabet heading only shows 30 subset entries.  Bryan says this is because they have restricted the size of the TOC, because some TOC's can have several MB of information--which apparently is way too large.

Boa's work  and TOC is hardly "large."  Plus, I noticed in my "Getting to Know Jesus" resource by Glen Copple, that on iPhone, the TOC only goes through chapter 94 (something I posted here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/16133.aspx -- which no one has responded to, lol).  So, here is a case where two works on the iphone display a different "limit" in the TOC.

    bug

The decision to limit TOC to 30 entries for all resources in in all cases is a really bad decision for devotionals as it makes devotionals useless in many(?) cases.

I think they need to revisit this decision and put something in beyond the one size fits all solution.

I am wondering if that is the problem here.  Not all TOC's have only 30 entries, some have more.  And the ones that do have more, wayyy more, have been changed to show ranges.  So, instead of having 300 entries under "A", they might do something like:

    A

    A--Alpha

    Alphonso--Art

    Artic--Azerbaijan

and each of the sub groupings would have more specific topics.  I can't imagine Boa's TOC was that large that they would intentionally truncate it, but maybe they did.  And if they did, then they will change it.  But it doesn't make sense that my "getting to know Jesus" resource shows 94 chapters in the iPhone (of the 146 or so).  That is 3x what Boa has.  Curious.

i just checked it out on mine. that IS weird.  But I don't know why Copple's work (getting to know Jesus) shows 94 chapters.

This is a very bad long-term solution. Especially so long as we are unable to search within a single resource
