I'm using Logos 10 (22.0.23) and I cannot even do a simple Bible search if I'm not connected to the Internet.  My entire library is download to my hard drive, so how can I search my resources while disconnected from the internet?

    Hi George,

Thank you for the report. I'm sorry you're experiencing this. Can you follow the instructions in this article to replicate the behavior with logging enabled, and add steps to replicate the behavior? https://support.logos.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027869132-How-to-Enable-and-Submit-Log-Files

    Thanks!

I'm having the same issue. Has anyone provided an answer for you? My church office doesn't have internet, and I'd rather not use my cell phone constantly, just to search my resources.

I did try something. I opened settings and checked "No" beside "Use Internet". Then it worked quite well. However, I am curious as to why we would need to do that: can it not sense when a connection is not available and just search what is downloaded?

Sorry for the disruption this morning. I'm curious what you were searching in your bible search. As operating a bible search checks for your local resources (resources downloaded to your machine) so you should of gotten results. Similar to my screenshot.

Can you try doing a simple search like Genesis 1 after you confirmed a bible like ESV or NIV is downloaded. Sorry if this seems redundant, just want to check all the boxes and make sure x is downloaded.

Then can you take a screenshot of your full application after you perform that search?

You shouldn't have to do this. Doing a bible search checks your local resources and will perform a search. That settings for me is still on `yes` and my search operation still worked as expected. Anything you might be able to add on your experience above?

Is it possible you are doing a `fuzzy` search? Can you try and do a search using passage, aligned, grid, or analysis? Those should display results from your local resources.

    UPDATE

We were able to replicate the scenario above. We believe it's due to having the search pre-selected to fuzzy and performing any search after that presents you with the follow error which requires either changing the `use internet` to be OFF in your program settings or having the ability to connect to the internet to de-select fuzzy.

Thanks again for the report. This is a bug in the current behavior and we'll write up a case to make improve the user experience here. In the meantime, if you can avoid using fuzzy while offline that will give better experience overall since that is an online feature.

That's quite possibly the issue, yes. I'll give that a try!

Yes, that was certainly it. Trouble was that I had to do a search with the internet connected in order to be able to choose the other search options. Otherwise, I couldn't find the other search options in order to de-select Fuzzy.

Then, I chose Passages as my search method, and was able to disconnect from the internet, and my searches worked fine after that.

    Thanks!
