Identifying Notes without a Notes icon
Hi everyone,
I seem to have created many Notes without including a Notes icon. Now I cannot easily tell if I had taken Notes on the Bible passage that I am reading.
Is there a way to identify these Notes so that I can add a Notes Icon?
Thanks

One way to do it is to go to "Tools" and then "Notes" (maybe someone will offer a faster way)
This will open your notes window.
#1: Make sure you filter by "Notes" (See picture #1).
#2: Scroll through and look for a note icon.
#3: When you find a note without an icon, click on that note to open it.
#4: Add a note icon (See picture #2).

In the Notes Tool you can use the compact view to display the notes as a list (either all or filtered by notebook). Then you can select and mark notes individually or multiple notes together and then assign a notes symbol to the selected notes.
The notes symbols are then visible in the Bible resource (make sure the notebook option is activated in the Bible resource visual filter menu)

Thanks a lot Rick.
I knew I had taken Notes in Ezekiel without adding the Notes Icon. So I filtered first by Ezekiel, then ESV, and then by Notes. You will see 16 results, but all have Notes Icon. Please see attachment.
Now I removed the last Filter “Notes”. You will see 334 results.
The first 6 are just Highlights. Note the 7th one (Ezekiel 1:28) does have my Notes, but it was not one of the 16 above. So is the 8th one in the list (Ezekiel 2:3-5). Is there a way to avoid scrolling through one by one to identify where I have put Notes?
Thanks

Thanks Wolfgan. That is a cool tip that is going to come in handy to attach the Notes icon to all those that are missing the icon, but once I am able to identify my Notes without a Notes icon.

This was probably caused by selecting "Reference" instead of "Selection" when you right clicked and created your notes.
When you select "Selection" it will tie the note to the Bible/Book (in this case the ESV) you are making the note in. When you click "Reference" it ties the note to the Bible reference and not a particular Bible or book.
In your example above, you most likely clicked "Reference" when creating the note, so it did not tie it to the ESV. That is why it is not showing up when you filter by ESV.

Unfortunately, not that I know of. I'm hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me will be able to help on that front.

Thank you Rick. I never use the right click menu, be it in my laptop or my iPhone. On my laptop, I just drag my pen over the words I want to highlight and the following popup shows up
I then use Hit "Y" the shortcut for my Yellow Highlighter. I usually have my Bible on one half and there is Notes on the other half. Then I hit "New Note" at the top of the Notes tool to jot down my thoughts. I don't know if what I am doing defaults to "Reference".
I am still hoping somebody will show me how to use the various filters to pick out the Notes without the Notes icon instead of scrolling through one by one.
Thanks

Hi everyone,
I am bumping my own post.
Wondering if there is a way to use the various filters to pick out the Highlights without the Notes icon instead of scrolling through one by one to identify them and then add the Notes icon one by one.
The 2368 all have a Notes icon. Which of the 19,807 highlights has a Note attached to it is what I am trying to figure out. You can see why scrolling through it all is not feasible.
If it is not feasible, I'd like to put this issue to rest.
Thanks
