Desktop V10 (23.1.33) Changing preferred Bible does not work

the command bar does not allow you to set the preferred Bible by typing in "set preferred Bible to", it just brings up factbook entries on translation.

You need to enter the full string such as set preferred Bible to NASB and you should then be able to choose from a range of options.

I tried setting through library and prioritizing books, but this does not work either.

That should work - please provide more details including a screenshot of your prioritised list (use the paperclip icon in the forum editor to upload the screenshot)

My preferred Bible is the New American Standard Bible, which I am having an issue seeing on the list but I have also tried with NRSV, which I do see on the list.

Thanks for the response Graham!  I have been typing the version as shown in the screen shot and also tried NSRV, but that isn't working.  Sorry I wasn't more clear with that before. 

As for the second part, the list I was referring to was in the library.  They do show up now that I have searched in "add to library" and selected "add to print library", but I am not sure how the print library differs from buying it.

Is it possible you have changed the abbreviation of the NASB in your library? Can you open the NASB, then open the information panel using the panel menu and post a screen shot of the top portion of the information panel showing the book cover, title, and abbreviation? Also scroll down to the bottom and paste all the information displayed in the Support Info section.

This is also the case for NRSV.  If you look at my screenshot of the command bar it is not the same as what you sent.  So it appears that something is wrong there.  Here are the screenshots I think you were asking for.  I also notice that it is prompting me to BUY the NASB?  I have Gold, so why would that be?

It appears that you added that NASB to your library as a print resource (note the shopping cart icon in your Library screenshot). You don't actually own it in Logos, therefore you can't actually open it, and can't actually set it as your preferred Bible.

The Print Library feature allows you to run searches in the resource, but not actually open it or use it in many other ways in the application.

I think that appears to be the problem.  The Bible edition has to be fully downloaded and available.  I am able to switch between ESV and NRSV now, but very disappointed that I have to pay additional for the NASB (my daily go-to Bible) on top of the Gold package I recently purchased.

The New American Standard Bible, 2020 Update (NASB) is included in many base packages (e.g. Logos 10 Reformed Gold) & some bundles: e.g. Mixed Translation Equivalence (Formal and Functional) Bible Bundle 1, 6 vols.

There are over 100,000 books availble in Logos. FL changes the packages they sell every couple of years. What you have purchased, you will keep. In a couple years, there will be a new "gold" package. You will own some of those resources, but many more will be new to you. If you choose to buy at that time, your library will grow by the amount of new books in the gold package which are new to you and you will recieve a discount on the "gold" price to reflect the books you recently purchased now. 

The translations in the packages come and go. Many of us picked up the NASB in a package on an earlier cycle. 

One thing you should be thankful for: The bibles used to be around $40 (if I remember correctly). $10 is a pretty good deal.

The NASB 1977 and NASB 1995 and NASB 1995 (paragraph version) are also available, whether separately alone or also in packages.
