Scrolling linked Bibles

If I link two Bibles in adjacent windows, go to one of them and scroll up or down to synchronize them to each other, and finally switch to the other window, it is likely that I will wind up in a different chapter from where I just left.

This has been an ongoing complaint since 2011, when it was answered that it would be fixed in the following beta version.

Question: Is anyone working on solving this?

Full disclosure:

  • Murphy's Law says that anything that can go wrong will.
  • Gumperson's Corollary says that it will go wrong in the worst possible way.
  • Example: When I'm trying to demonstrate the behavior that I'm complaining about, it works perfectly.

This is not my experience with Bible -- occasionally with commentaries, yes. BTW I think you mean adjacent panels or panes rather than window/floating window, not that it matters in this context -- I understood what you meant.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

"Panels" would have been a better description. I dithered long over what to call them.

Re: Commentaries. That might point to an indexing issue in the commentaries. I'm not privy to the data structure that Logos uses. Linking two Bibles should be straightforward though.

It occurred to me that slow WiFi might be the cause, but at that moment, WiFi was running over 500 Mbps, so that wasn't the problem.

I'm seeing about a 4 verse difference, not an entire chapter. For example, I have the ESV and NLT linked in separate tabs/panels. When I scroll the ESV to 1 Cor. 15:50, the NLT goes to 1 Cor. 15:54. We have a case to improve this linking, but if you are seeing entire chapter differences, it would be helpful to know which resources you are seeing this in and a screenshot, if possible.

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks, Ali.

If the Logos code wizards are going to fix even a four-verse discrepancy, that will take care of everything.

Thank you for following up on all these issues. It is a never ending task, and you are greatly appreciated.
