Help with Logos Mobile in Studying
Good day, this is my first time using a Bible study program. Can you please guide me in when one uses the notes function and when should use the clipping function. I am trying to make notes of how we should live our daily life in imitating Christ, but need help. Like I said I have never used a study program. This is also my first time studying the Bible in this way, and making use of so many resources my head starts to stop with all of this info and I dont know where to store them. If you could please guide me I would really appreciate it.

Hi Lukas! This is a great place to get some help with using the mobile app. I'd suggest taking a look at our Mobile App Training Videos where you can watch videos directed at specific features in the app.
That being said, I'm sure our community has some more pointed tips to provide you[:)]

Good day and thank you for the reply. I have watch the videos and know how the program functions work. But what I struggle with is that this program has so many functions and so much info that it gives you based on your resource, then I don't know what functions works best for your note keeping between clippings and notes. I also saw people did not like the notes previously and I don‘t know if that has been improved with logos 10. My problem is to understand what function works best for a certain task.

Morning Lukas
Thinking about notes and clippings.
And I'm aware that some users have chosen to use mainly clippings while others use notes - so at the end of the day it is a personal choice.
My comments here are not specific to mobile but more general as I think you were asking this question more generally at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/214111/1250253.aspx#1250253
Clippings are great for capturing a portion of text for further reference and - if required- for then pasting into other documents. You can add notes to them which provides a way of annotating them. They can be grouped together using Favorites allowing a set of Clippings to be linked to a topic / passage etc. There is no indication in the resource you have "clipped" that a clipping has been taken.
Notes can also be used to capture a portion of text for further reference - but are also designed to allow us to make our own notes with a notes editor and the ability to add highlights / icons to the text we have captured. They are all contained within a single notes tool and can be combined into Notesbooks. These notebooks enable, among other things, the ability to control which notes icons / highlights show up in our resources. Notes and highlights (which are very similar) are also searchable (as are Clippings) and notes functionaliy can be extended using Labels.
Both Notes and Clippings sync across all devices on which you use Logos
For me, the added functionaity of Notes and the fact that it is primarily geared towards us taking / displaying / searching our own research and thoughts makes it more useful for me than Clippings but I still use both.
Hope this helps a bit, Graham

Thank you for the quick reply. I mainly make use of logos mobile on ipad. My problem is for example. If one wants to have something like folder where you record scripture about the character of God say creation. what does one make use of. In olivetree on mobile you can create your highlight name for example purple for God as Creator and then all the highlights you have about God as the creator are in that folder. But with Logos I cant find a solution as to that. And another example is if one wants to have a folder or notebook about what it is to be good Christian where one then can add scripture based on how one should live on daily basis. Hope this helps.

I just wanted to correct / clarify this
Multiple clippings can be stored in a single Clippings document so you could, for example, have a Clippings Document related to Creation and then collect related clippings in that document so they would all be in one "folder".

The key question - for me - at this point is whether you want an indication (icon / highlight) in your Bible that a particular verse / portion of text says something about the character of God or what is involved in being a good Christian
If yes then you need to go down the Notes route - if no then either option would work.

I use notes as my thoughts when researching and I use clippings as other people thoughts I want to return to it later
