L10 Web App vs Desktop App
I'm sorry if I've miss it, but I've looked and I can't seem to find a feature comparison of the Web vs Desktop apps. I'm getting tired of the push from Microsoft to pay monthly fees for O365 and storage and there is no way I'm willing to may the Apple Mac hardware tax (twice the price for the same functionality). Therefore I'm looking to convert to Linux. Runs on cost effective hardware and no fees. I've been playing around with the L10 app and so far I like it. However, it would be great to know what features I'm going to loose by doing this?

Thank you. That helps a lot. I will book mark it. So far there are few things I use on the desktop app that aren't in the web app yet, but it is very close. I know Logos will never come out with a Linux app, so this is a close as I can get.

True, but there are some users who have it up and running.
Computers / Technology are both a commodity and a consumable. Running Linux is certainly an option for those who are adverse to the continual need to pay tech companies. It comes with the trade off that you aren't paying other people to do things for you. If you want to run Logos on Linux, you can probably do so but tech support will be up to you. You'd probably find a person or two on here who would be willing and able to assist... but that crowd is small.

Given your MS/Apple aversion, you'd do better to consider the mobiles. The web version is largely stuck in a time-warp, and the mobiles are adding functionality ... potentially unburdened by desktop legasy decisions.
Unless Linux is your dream come true (other apps).

People,
Thank you for the replies. I have what I need.
I'm very tech aware and like everyone we should all make our tech decisions based on our needs and finances. I don't want my thread to turn into a "tech bashing" or "fan boy" - X is better then Y thread as the internet / has way to much of that already.

John,
Do look at the Linux group. Also see this Github page for an easy to use Linux install script, as well as the wiki, which has links to a Telegram and Matrix chat group:

Most of the desktop features are working on Linux, though we have some hiccups here and there.
The big whoppers that aren't working are: audio playback, video playback, screen reading, printing, and the FaithLife Assistant.
Printing is a regression which we hope to have fixed soon.™
