What is a good book on the quests for the historical Jesus? Ice read commentaries on the gospels but can’t find anything
Here's one by James Charlesworth.

I've just started reading the book and am only a few chapters in. A word of caution, do not expect him to always support traditional views. For example, here is a quote from the introduction:
James H. Charlesworth, The Historical Jesus: An Essential Guide (Nashville: Abingdon Press, 2008).
Despite the fact that I do not always agree with him, he is respectful in his writings. I had the opportunity to hear him speak at a week long workshop on the Dead Sea Scrolls sponsored by the Biblical Archaeology about 15 years ago. I've read a number of books he has written and learned a lot. I highly respect him.
... but can’t find anything
That must have demanded full seconds?
Start with Schweitzer.
... he is respectful in his writings
Not sure what that means. Just in your short blurb I lost count (wasn't trying hard) on speculative statements masquerading as declarative facts, enhanced by slipshod logic. Which is pretty normal in the Biblical scholarship world.
But he's 'top of the trees' for actual scholarship (eg OTP, etc).
a statement on the issue HISTORICAL TRUTH OF THE GOSPELS (bc.edu)
Christian,
The Quest has actually taken on many different aspects since it was inaugurated by Albert Schweitzer with the publication of his seminal work, Geschichte der Leben-Jesu-Forschung, in 1906. This quest has been reexamined by many scholars, each focusing taking a different emphasis of Jesus's life and ministry as a focal point for their quest. Last I recall, we are currently in the third quest, with scholars like N. T. Wright, Ben Witherington, and others engaged in the mission.
I would recommend taking a look at Colin Brown's most recent monograph, A History of the Quests for the Historical Jesus. This will give you a very good sense of the ink that has been spilled on this subject.

You might want to take a look at this book https://www.logos.com/product/786/the-historical-jesus-ancient-evidence-for-the-life-of-christ that is authored by Gary R. Habermas. There are also several other of his books available from Logos.
Try searching for the phase on the Logos website:https://www.logos.com/search?query=%22historical%20Jesus%22&sortBy=Relevance&limit=60&page=1&ownership=all&geographicAvailability=availableToMe
I can recommend Craig Keener, Graig Evans, James Charlesworth, Helen Bond, Joel Green, and Michael Bird, or if you want multiple perspectives you could try the "Five Views (Spectrum Multiview Books)"
The first few chapters of Tom Wright’s Jesus and the Victory of God give a good overview. It’s a in Logos but your seminary library should also have a copy.
Agreed.
Currently available as ebook for $0.99.
