Every time I create a new layout and come back it's blank. I can't get anything to save. Are the layouts supposed to save as I change them?

Thanks!

Jason - Which device is this? Which specific app? Specific build?

Do you make sure to "update" them before opening a new layout?

    Build is 23.0.5 (Build 1230005108)

I'm on an Android 13 phone. Pixel 5a

I'm not 100% sure what an "update" is, but I'll read a few chapters and then switch to another layout. When I come back it's not saved at all. I have to scroll those several chapters all over again.

If it's a new layout (ex I make a new one), I'll read a book and when I close the app and come back the layout is empty. I'll add the book, read again for 15 minutes and close the app. When I come back to my new layout, it's empty all over again.

So, in the end, my original layout saves sporadically (what chapter in currently on), and my new layouts save nothing.

This is "as expected" (by Faithlife) and works the same as desktop. You must "update" (save) your layout first before moving to a new one. On iOS, you gently swipe right to left and choose "update."

If it's a new layout (ex I make a new one), I'll read a book and when I close the app and come back the layout is empty.

I assume this is because the layout is "blank" when you create it. Again, you will have to "update" it.

Side note: You have either just changed your email address OR created a second account. (I can tell by the discrepancy in the post counts above). If you just changed your email address but still have the same account, no worries. If you created a new account, that could cause problems if you make purchases in the wrong one. It can also create problems if you need help from FL and you aren't using the account you make purchases.

Thanks! Clicking "Update" fixed the issue. Would be nice to have this update automatically, but this is good for now!

I did just change my email address, so hopefully all is good. Thanks!

You shouldn't have any problems. In this type of situation, sometimes users like to keep their post count... but you didn't have many to worry about!

    Glad it is working.

FL's view of "layouts" is weird to me. Their definition isn't really what I would expect from the term "layout." Nor is it really what I want in "projects." I assume you'd probably like "projects" if FL ever implemented them (resources always sync and stay up to date across all devices and patterns of tiles [layouts!]).
