Multiple Books View Setup Question

Is it possible to save a floating multiple book view to the shortcuts bar so that it always opens as a separate floating window regardless of what books are open in my current layout? I have a multiple book view that I had opened in a floating view with the ESV as the lead book. I dragged the floating window tab to the shortcut bar to create the shortcut link for this floating window. If I right click the short cut on the tool bar and select "Open in a floating window", the multiple book view will open up a separate floating window. However, if I just select the shortcut, it opens the multiple book view in my currently open layout using the currently open ESV tab in the layout. I do not want it to use the ESV tab in my current layout (I want it to open a floating window with its own ESV book). I also would prefer to just select the shortcut on the shortcuts bar instead of having to right-click the shortcut and make a selection from the menu. Am I missing a step/doing something incorrectly? Thanks.
