Topic in Topic Guide not available in Sermon Builder topics
Ok, every time I think I have this "Topics" thing figured out, I get stumped.
"Christmas" appears to be an official/proper topic in the Topic Guide, as you can see here; it comes back as a standalone topic that actually returns results in the Topic Guide when selected:
However, if I try to apply the "Christmas" topic to a sermon in the Sermon Builder, it does not appear in the autocomplete list and you are not able to use it as a topic:
What gives?

IIRC Jesus' Birth (preaching theme) and Christmas (topic) have been combined ... I went nuts on this because I think of Christmas as the incarnation rather than birth. I agree that the whole thing is a muddle for users.

Thanks for pointing this out. There will also be a new feature in the upcoming version 25 desktop release that allows you to set your own topics in a different metadata field if you don't see it listed in the current "Topics" area.
