As for me.... I purchased the TNSK and returned it. I think it is no longer a cross reference but should be categorized as a commentary. The author added a lot more commentary than the TSK and as I perused the book before returning it I was very disappointed in it. I also found some of the cross references, in my opinion, convoluted the original passage in that they seemed to go in different directions.
If you have the TSK... I don't think the TNSK adds that much if you take out the additional commentary.
But if you like Jerome Smith's commentary.... then maybe the TNSK "commentary" is for you.
The world according to ChatGPT:
[quote]The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge is an updated version of the original Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, which was first published in 1830 by R.A. Torrey. The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge was edited by Jerome Smith and published in 1992.
The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge includes over 100,000 cross-references, which is more than twice the number of cross-references found in the original Treasury of Scripture Knowledge. The original work contained approximately 500,000 cross-references, while the updated version contains over 600,000 cross-references.
Therefore, the New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge has over 100,000 additional cross-references compared to the original Treasury of Scripture Knowledge.
[quote]
The Ultimate Treasury of Scripture Knowledge is a newer edition of the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge series, which was originally compiled by R.A. Torrey in 1897. The Ultimate Treasury of Scripture Knowledge was edited by John Gilmore and published in 2018.
According to the publisher, the Ultimate Treasury of Scripture Knowledge includes over 1 million cross-references, which is significantly more than both the original Treasury of Scripture Knowledge and the New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge. Therefore, the Ultimate Treasury of Scripture Knowledge has many more cross-references than the New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, but I'm sorry I don't have the exact number of additional cross-references.
My observations:
Thank you for your interesting comments!Goes to show that sometimes what is found on the Internet is not correct!
R. A. Torrey had nothing to do with the content or publication of the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge. He did write an excellent Introduction that is in many editions. I cited material from his Introduction in a recent comment here.
Warren Wiersbe, John MacArthur, Ron Rhodes, Jack Hayford, and Stewart Custer are among the many Bible teachers and scholars who highly commend the work I have done.
Some would find my listing of as many cause/effect relationship verses I could find that I placed at Psalm 9:10 to be worth the price of the book. Not to mention the most complete listing and indexing of figures of speech in the Bible to be found in a Bible study resource.
As for so many references being a bit of an overkill--not the case when you are desperate or eager to find all that the Bible has to say on a subject of interest to you. For others who do not have the need or inclination to consult so many references I have marked the very clearest ones using special emphasis symbols.

Well Abraham Lincoln said it, so is up to us to believe it!!! 😂😂😂

For a good discussion of how Torrey became the 'author' of TSK (right-side; scroll down):

With all the discussion of cross-reference Bible study here lately, I would highly recommend getting my book, The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, if you do not have it yet! I can tell by the discussions I have read that many here have not taken advantage of the benefits of doing this kind of Bible study. Have you personally tried to talk to Logos to see if there might be interest on their part to make the “ultimate” version available? I’m just curious (maybe you already have…). DAL I have no contact with anyone at Logos. Considering the negative tone of a few responders here, I don't know how much actual interest there really is in this fundamental and basic method of Bible study here. I am most thankful for those who have expressed a positive interest. ...

I just purchased the NTSK. Maybe in this case it would be better to contact Logos to make sure they're aware of the existence and value of the corrections and updates in the revised edition. They should have a better idea of its worth than the subset of user responses you'll receive in the forums, I would think.
Edit: I just realized the original discussion was about the UTSK rather than the RNTSK -- but my comments still apply either way.
