Manual download or Mac app store?
Hi,
I'm getting a new Macbook which should be arriving today, and I'm very excited to get back into Logos on the desktop (I'm a long-time user of Logos but have only been able to access it on mobile for the last few years).
It looks like Logos is on the Mac app store these days, but the installation instructions in the help section only reference the manual download direct from the website.
Would you please let me know if there is any advantage/disadvantage to downloading from the Mac app store, compared to the DMG file way of doing things?
TIA!

Update: Thank you all for your comments, very helpful. I have downloaded the one from the website, and will install shortly!
Blessings,
Tim

I download the M1 version from the logos site. My guess is that the logos version in the App Store is intel but I do not know that for sure. Secondly, the App Store versions —from my experience with other apps— are not updated as frequently. Play it safe and go to the logos site.

Ah, that's a good point, I hadn't thought about the Intel/Apple Silicon thing.
Thank you, that makes sense.

Order and download from Logos. I have mistakenly downloaded other programs through the Apple Store and had to wait longer for updates etc.

The MOBILE app is in the Mac App Store (when running an Apple Silicon Mac), but the DESKTOP app is not.

As stated above, these are two different things. However: I like running the mobile app on my Mac and do so when I want to write in an outside app (i.e. Pages / Word) but have some resources open alongside my writing app.
