Unanchored Notes

Hi everyone,

One of the facets that is available under Notes tool is "Unanchored". Luckily I have only 38 of them, but still I have no idea how this is possible. Any pointers?

I am using taking Notes only while reading some resource in Logos. I was perusing these Notes and, based on the content, some seem to be related to some Bible verse that I seem to have read, some seem to be related to Calvin's Christian Institutes. So I am a bit surprised that these Notes are "Unanchored".

Is there a way to identify the resource underlying these "Unanchored" Notes?

I don't know if there is a way to identify the source of unanchored notes. I use Notes every day. I have mucho many of them. And here's the rule I flollow.... 1. Every Note has bible anchor. 2. Within that Note I may have hyperlinks to other books or such that I read and I use the bible verse as my point of reference to which the book hyperlink referrers to.

One of the problems I see with mobile Notes is that the hyperlinks don't work. I am hoping that will change soooooon!!!

I don't know if there is a way to identify the source of unanchored notes.

Does anyone know how this could have happened given that I am only highlighting resources I own in Logos?

If I am making a Note when reading the Bible, Logos automatically (as per my experience) puts the verse as the anchor. I don't need to do anything.

If I am making a Note when reading a non-Bible resource in Logos - say Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God by GI Packer, Logos automatically (as per my experience) puts the link to the Book as the anchor. In my case, I see the anchor as "ESG".

Hence my puzzle as to how Unanchored Notes could even occur in the first place.

There is no need for every Note to have a Bible anchor. You can read Christian books and put down your thoughts without anchoring to a Bible text. I have plenty of them.

btw, When I click on the anchor that Logos automatically puts when I take a Notes from a Logos resource (ESG in the example I mention above), I am taken to the exact spot in the resource where I made the Note. So I don't see the problem you're facing.

At any rate, please take this up in a different post as it is a different issue.

Is it possible that you highlighted something in a resource that you owned temporarily but no longer have access to - such as a subscription terminating?

I don't know if this would cause what you are seeing but it seems possible!

That is a wonderful observation indeed. I now see that most of my Unanchored Notes were made 3 years ago, which was before I started purchasing packages. I think this observation of your solves 3/4th of the puzzle approximately. Thank you Graham. (btw, there is no way to know which resource I put these Notes in, right?)

For the remaining one, I also see a Note that I know I put in as I was reading Genesis in Jan of this year. The Note also says that it was created 3 months ago, which matches my expectation. Wondering why it was not anchored to a Bible verse.
