It's about time to retire my Likebook Mars, which still runs on Android 8, which is unsupported as of February.

I'm considering replacing it with the Meebook M6, since it's only $160, or sometimes on sale for $145. Does anyone have any experience with it? Especially the syncing used to be a problem on the old Likebook, and if that problem persists with the Meebook, I don't think I'm gonna get one.

I was able to get my hands on a Meebook P78, just to try whether L10 runs properly on it. Good news is, it does. However, that device is too big and too expensive for me.

So I did order a Meebook M6 now. Same Android version, similar specifications. Got it for $145; after tax and shipping it came out at $175. Three weeks delivery time... I'll give an update here with some photos once I've got the device.

I realized you were going to have to wait a while so I ordered one from amazing (since I can always return it).  I tested logos and I’m disappointed that it crashes after a short time of using it.  I’m going to be sending it back

Boox just came out with the poke 5, which is 179 from their website, they also have the leaf2 at 199. Maybe give one of those a try.

I've had great experiences with boox so far, my main logos device is now a Nova air 2. I love it. I also have a max lumi that I've used for a few years now. Its great for two column mode, but due to the slightly slower refresh, I still prefer the nova air2 most of the time. Also more compact. On both devices never had any crashes, I'd imagine the experience would be similar on the smaller devices.

I personally like the Boox devices. I've had a few and they all run Logos flawlessly.

I would suggest the Boox Note Air Plus 2 ONYX BOOX Note Air 2 Plus E Reader :: ONYX BOOX electronic books

One cheap upgrade is a decent case, and new pen. I use the Samsung one. If you don't mind the larger size, and lack of delete/erase button, the stock pen is more than fine.

I personally wish I would have skipped straight to buying this specific device rather than the other eink devices I went through, the pen makes a decent difference. It's a bit pricey, but worth it IMO.

Thanks for sharing your experiences.  It seems like the Note Air Plus 2 is the right device.  Because I am cheap and a bit stubborn to see for myself I’m going to be trying the p78 at $255 first.  Since amzn is free returns I’m trying to work my way up.  I can share how it works when it arrives.

So the Meebook arrived while I was away, but I finally had the time to evaluate it properly. I'll post some pictures later. First impression is good, however, it could be better. Since I've ordered it directly from China, I'm not going to return it. But I would have liked to compare it with a Poke 5 directly, and then decide on the better device.

So on the pro side there's the following:

    * The size. It's really small and compact. (I like travelling light; just cabin baggage when flying etc., so this is a pro for me, but might be a con for others.)

    * Supports 1 TB microSD cards. Plenty of space for a very big Logos library. That's more than any other Android tablet or phone I've had.

    * Storing the Logos library on SD is possible, but must be prepared before downloading the Logos app. (Enable developer tools, enable ADB, enable adoptable storage, format the SD card as internal memory. Migrate app storage to card memory. DON'T move the Logos app on the card memory.)

    * Audio books can be played via bluetooth. No more audio jack though.

    On the con side:

    * Occasional crashes of the Logos app. I've had it happen about once a day.

    * Some syncing issues persist, but the app isn't caught in endless download cycles like it happened on the Likebook Mars after the latest update. So it's useable even with a larger downloaded library.

So, I bought a couple different kinds of eink tablets and they all froze on logos.  I first got the p78 as mentioned above, Logos froze and never worked properly.  I then bought the Nova Air 2, froze on logos.  Then I bought the one recommended above, the Boox Note Air 2 Plus and I was super hopeful.  But after a short time using it, it started to freeze.  I don't know if it has something to do with the settings (I made it page turn rather than scroll) or my library 5,540 resources.  But I still haven't found an eink reader that works...

I believe I still owe some photos. There have been a few OS updates, and crashes are now a very rare occurrence. It only seems to happen when downloading a large amount of resources now. After a Logos restart, the download will continue though.

Since the device is so small, I almost always have it on my. Battery life is exceptional in comparison to the Likebook Mars. An hour of reading drains the battery around 2 to 4%. And while switched off, I haven't noticed any battery drain at all.

Connecting via bluetooth to play audio books and mobile ed courses on my stereo, on my alarm clock and on my ear plugs is also a great feature that I've come to appreciate a lot.

So after 4 months of use I must say this was the right choice.

The Meebook runs Android 11. I suspect it will update at least to Android 13, so it should be able to run the latest Logos version until around 2028. (I'm not saying that it will be supported, because e-readers are generally not supported by FL.) From past experience, I assume, it will continue to work for a few more years after the last "supported" update. My best guess is around 2031. Then it's gonna be time to buy a color e-reader...

Now here are the photos. The reading experience is really good. Due to the small screen, high resolution images can be a bit difficult to view, but most maps and photos are okay. Not quite the quality as a print book, or the Logos app on a proper tablet, but it's okay.

Hey Scott, can you please give an update about your usage of Boox Note Air 2 Plus? I'm considering buying it for using Logos on it, but after your comment I'm not sure about it. Have you been using it these last months?

If anyone else is using Logos on a larger E-Ink tablet I'd love to hear about your experience as well.

Hi Avi, I've had a Boox Note Air 2 for about 2 years now and I use the Logos Bible app on it all the time. I have had no problems with it whatsoever, it works really well. The device is not small, but I like the bigger screen when using Logos, it makes it possible to use the split screen function for example. I have a Boox Nova2 7.8 as well, which is an older and smaller model, which I still use for bedtime reading, it is more comfortable to hold in one hand. Logos still works fine on that model as well. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

I just bought the Meekbook M7 and try to load logos on it. May I ask what is the configuration to enable the load to SD card?

    Thanks a lot

Have you worked with ADB before? You enable it on the device, install ADB on your desktop, connect with USB, and move app storage to SD via command prompt. I'll look for some detailed instructions later.
