A19-Missing Resources

1. After updating I can no longer find several of my top bibles, including NASB and ESV

2. Tried updating resources via the command bar but no luck.

3. Ran it in Parallels as a full version, didn't have the problem

4. Restarted several times, no luck1057.Archive.zip

I second the missing resources...

Known Missing Resources:

ESV, NASB, NIV
26 of Calvin's Commentaries (I purchased the 46-volume set, but only 20 show up)

Without my purchases, my Scholar's base package contains 474 resources... I know it's supposed to contain "almost 500"... But if I know I'm missing my 2 favourite translations, what else might be missing? Thanks.

Would you mind posting your updates.db and your ResourceManger.db?

They can be found at in your home folder under "Library/Application Support/Logos4/<some_random_chars>/UpdateManager" and "Library/Application Support/Logos4/<some_random_chars>/ResourceManager" respectively.

We'll take a look and see why these resources are missing.

Can I post them as well?

Also, do I need to compress them into .zip files like I would for posting regular logs or can I just post copies of the files?

First forgive me if I violate posting protocol. I have never posted anything prior.

I use L4 on my imac and macbook. A19 update worked great on imac (to include new resources recently added via purchased CD)

On macbook, update was not automatic, I had to click link to download the latest A19. Once downloaded, it never indexed resources, but my whole library vanished. Only thing I can think that is different is I used the macbook to install the new CD of resources which I had to use old Libronix v1.2 to get it to install because it was Windows based.

At least I have the imac! [:)]

This is a sufficiently different issue as to merit its own thread, but this is more an issue of reducing the chance that your message gets lost in the shuffle than of conforming to any protocol.

Once downloaded, it never indexed resources, but my whole library vanished.

If you have logs from the first time you ran A19, they might be useful. Other than that, I'd recommend starting by running the command "update resources" followed by "rebuild index". If you still have trouble after that, post the logs from when you ran these commands, and we'll go from there.

update resources showed the text Updating resources. Nothing showed up. Rebuild index caused the program to shut down. When I restarted it seem that it wanted to index (the screen started downloading resources and the blue icon came up) but it was only lasted a few seconds, disappeared and then opened with an empty library.

Forgive me again - what logs do you need?

You create logs by following the instructions from the link in my signature at the bottom. Document what you are doing and post them along with the logs.

Hello, I posted a few days back, and was asked to post my Updates.db and ResourceManager.db files. So here they are. (I actually created a more recent post than this, intending for someone to see it, but I was directed to reply to your post directly, Tom.)

Previously I was missing the ESV, NASB, NIV, (and I'm sure a few other things), 26 of the 46 Calvin Commentaries set. Those translations have since been added (thank you!).

I'm using the Scholar edition, and the only add-ons are Calvin's commentaries and Henry Alford's The Greek Testament, which comes up as 3 resources . Current Resource count = 505 total.

I'm looking at your ResourceManager and Updates.db and it appears that all your Calvin commentaries were installed on 2010-04-30.

The entire 46 volume set is contained in 20 actual files: You can see the list here: http://www.logos.com/products/details/5161 and click on Download Book Files link.
