Bug: Repeated Note Icons (iOS and Desktop only)
I sometimes have notes anchored to a book of the Bible containing an outline or other book-level thoughts.
However, in some resources these note icons show up at every verse, completely overwhelming the actually relevant notes which are tied to specific verses!
I'm calling this a bug rather than a suggestion because this problem only occurs in iOS and Desktop. It works correctly (as I see it) in Android. Please make this consistently behave like it does in Android!!
Note: This problem only occurs with particular resources, such as Scrivener, F. H. A. The New Testament in Greek. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1881.

It works correctly (as I see it) in Android.
I believe that this is what you are seeing:
- You have notes taken in a different resource, being shown in Scrivener 1881 on desktop and iOS, but not on android.
- You have a note taken in Scrivener 1881 at verse 7 being shown on all devices. This is why there are three note icons shown on desktop and iOS
I think the reason "it works correctly" is because you are not seeing notes from other sources on android.
The primary issue you have is annoying.

I can confirm that all the notes are anchored to generic Bible references, not particular resources...

I've created a case for this issue. Thank you!

After looking into this more, this is actually intended behavior. We changed this behavior back in October when we released Logos 10 on mobile, so that highlights would be shown on the verse-level, instead of the resource-level.
I am able to see the verse-level behavior on both iOS and Android.
Please feel free to make a post on Faithlife Feedback for this suggestion.

I certainly will, but:
- I have Android 25.0.0. Why do I not see verse-level behavior in Anroid?
- Why do the repeated notes not occur in other resources such as English Bibles? It seems to me that if this was the intended behavior, it would be important for all Bibles and especially English Bibles!
- If this changed as a result of the new selection menu, why is that? The new selection menu makes it easier to see book-level notes without needing to see the anchor. Therefore, it seems like this change is counter-intuitive!
Thanks as always for responding! I can speak for other forum users when I say it means a lot to us!

I added a Feedback idea: Repeated Note Icons (iOS and Desktop only) | Faithlife
However, I still think it is a bug, as I explained above, and I would love for someone from Faithlife to respond to what I said.
In addition, I noticed this peculiarity. In a commentary, it is expected that the note icons stack for the notes applied to verses within the verse range of that particular portion of the commentary. However, I noticed that the display is different for Android, iOS, and Desktop. None of them display the same! I think the logic of note icons needs to be sorted out and applied uniformly to all OSs.
The notes in question are anchored to:
Eph. 2:1-10 (speech bubble)
Eph. 2:1-10 (speech bubble)
Eph. 2:8 (note icon)
Eph. 2:10 (note icon)
Ephesians (note icon)

The team and I are looking into this further, Robert. Can you answer the following questions, please?
- Is the resource downloaded to the devices?
- Are the devices connected to the internet at all?

For Scrivener 1881,
- Yes for all devices
- Yes for all devices
For F. F. Bruce The Epistles to the Colossians, to Philemon and to the Ephesians,
- Originally, this was only downloaded on Desktop. Afterwards, however, I downloaded the resource on Android and iOS and now the notes are showing up in another place (see further below).
- Yes for all devices.

Thank you, Robert. I've created a case for these issues.
