No more horizontal scrolling through tabs?

Does anyone know if there's a way to scroll horizontally through commentary tabs (see pic)? I used to be able to do this with both my trackpad on my MacBook Air and my bluetooth Apple mouse.
As you know, some of us have lots of tabs/commentaries, so to have to click, click, click the right or left arrow can take a really long time.
Before, I'd be able to swipe my finger left or right and it would fly through tabs and get me to where I needed quickly.
If you can help, I'd be really grateful as this would really improve efficiency!
I'm using Logos 10.

When I use a two finger swipe, I can move the tabs like sliding them on a table.

Yep ... I just installed a new Verbum on my Mac; my layout has tons of tabs in small panels. Two-finger scrolling is critical (else the well-known 'hitting the X' mistake.

I just caught this... I assume that you mean you are running 24.x or 25.x. Is that right? The terminology of "Logos 10" should be avoided moving forward when discussing the software engine.

Got you, thanks. So when I open "About Logos," it says...

Logos Bible Software 8.17 SR-3

Your software is significantly out of date... are you running an old version of macOS? Is there a reason you have not updated to the newest engine?
In any case, the two finger swipe <should> work.

I just verified on my Verbum 25.0.38, MacOS 13.3.1 (a), 2 finger swipe to move to the next tab does not work.

I am running the same version of the engine in the Logos variety, on 13.3.1 (a), and it is working for me.
Do you have an over abundance of tabs when you tried?
EDIT: I have found a bug which might explain the problem. I will work on typing it up.

Are we talking the same thing? I was assuming the situation where (in my case), there's 13 tabs in a panel 3" wide; 2-fingers scrolls across quickly (doesn't switch tabs, and don't want it to).

I think so. Try out the steps in this link:DMB said:Are we talking the same thing?

JT, thanks for the post. I went through all the steps but no change. I did notice that if my pointer is near the left or right arrow, and I swipe left or right, it "wants" move...it moves a little bit but goes back to where it was before. I'm updating from Sierra to Monterey, so we'll see if that works?

Wow. You really don't like to update, do you? [:O][:)]
After that finishes, see what engine you are able to update to with Logos.

You are so far out of date with both your OS and Logos, that it is difficult to troubleshoot. Hopefully your updates will fix things. If not, let us know where the updates land.

I guess I don’t like to update, I think because the only time I use the computer is Fridays when I’m doing sermon prep and I never feel like taking away from that to do updates especially with super slow internet…but now I’m paying for it.
What do you mean about Logos updates? I thought the only thing that could be upgraded and updated was whatever Logos is the latest (ie, Logos 8, 9, 10)? Can you explain that?

HI JT thanks for working on this. I tried, I did not get the same thing:
- Open Logos in FULL screen on macOS. - I opened Verbum, then without moving off of it I clicked the green button to open it in full screen mode. It opened to the Home page.
- Ensure that there are enough tabs open to facilitate the need to horizontal scroll. - I opened Library by dragging it to full screen. I then opened 4 commentaries to full screen, from shortcuts on the top bar. So I had 5 tabs open full screen and nothing else.
- Use two finger swipe to horizontal scroll the tabs (should work). - I tried swiping across one open commentary to another, either side, and nothing worked. Two finger swipe up and down worked fine, but nothing from left to right.

I just needed you to be in full screen mode on a layout (not the home page).

5 aint enough. Try 15.

For clarification, you should be swiping on the tabs themselves. This is not the same thing as the mobile app where you can "two finger swipe" between resources. This is a "two finger swipe" to move the tabs themselves.

I must not get it....my Verbum opens to home page. I created a layout of 20 full screen tabs, all of them full screen. I closed and reopened so I could use the new layout. I tried opening Verbum, loading the Layout - I did several 2 finger swipes across the tabs, they move like 1/3 of a tab back and forth, that's it. 3 finger swipe to another screen and back doesn't change the behavior. I also tried opening Verbum, maximizing the screen, then opening a layout. Same thing.
Are you saying it has to open directly to the layout? This is what the tabs look like:

I don't know what you mean by "full screen" tabs. By "full screen," I mean the app. The "Logos" menu should not be visible.
As for your screenshot: You have a very large monitor and only one panel. The larger your monitor, the larger the panel, the more tabs you would need open. I have a Macbook Air. I have a skinny panel (i.e. highlighters), and two panels for books. In one of the book panels, I have 15 resources open... so a MUCH higher resource density than what you are showing.

Your screenshot doesnt get large for me, but that sounds about right. From my monitor is seems like all of your tabs are visible... so there is no reason to be able to scroll them. When I close a bunch of my tabs, what you describe is what I get as well.
It sounds like it is working on your computer as expected.

OK. So I can't show you a video, but perhaps my screenshots will help. If you are able, open each of these in separate browser windows. Focus on the tabs in the pane in the upper right. Switch to the other screenshot. Notice that the resource has not changed, but the tabs at the top have. I have "2 finger swiped" through them.
On the mobile app, you can "two finger swipe" on the resource page and it will change resources. That isn't what is being discussed in this thread.

Thanks JT, the screen shots helped - I remember now. I used to use this a lot, but I have simplified my layouts so I never have so many on a pane that I needed to scroll. I did think swiping to the next panel would work because so many apps do that. So I am good here!
Anyway to check your 'bug' - I set it up - 2 finger swipe works fine. But also, I can 3 finger swipe back to another window (I usually have 3 up, Mac stuff, Parallels, and Verbum), and then swipe back to the Verbum Window, and 2 finger keeps working fine.
I think you are seeing a Mac bug. Try this if you know how, it has traditionally fixed gesturing problems that stop working - run Terminal, then in Terminal type --->
killall Dock
You could also try logging out/in or restarting your Mac and see if that resets it. I have a hunch one of those will fix it.

JT did you try my suggestions, did it fix your problem?

Good news! I got faster Internet, updated to latest MacOS, and fast scrolling feature is back!
JT, you mentioned updating Logos...how do I do that?

These did not work. The only way I can get it to work again is by taking Logos out of full screen. If I want, I can then put it back into full screen and it will continue to work until I move to another desktop again.

That is very strange indeed. Something must be influencing it. My bet is the MacOS side, but who knows...
