bug: graph bible search results inaccurate

I have posted about this before (http://community.logos.com/forums/p/10681/83913.aspx#83913) but I saw the problem again in 4.c RC1, so I want to draw attention to it again. One of the options for graphs is number of hits in chapter / number of verses in chapter. What is actually produced is a graph portraying the number of verses with hits in chapter / number of verses in chapter times 100 to the 13th decimal point. I did a search for the verb lemma:δίδωμι in the NT. It is found 17 times in John 17 but those 17 occurrences are found in only 11 verses. There are 26 verses in the chapter, and for number of hits in chapter / number of verses in chapter, L4 returns 42.3076923076923. The number format is unhelpful and inaccurate (it should read .423 or something like that) and more importantly the number itself is inaccurate (it should be .654).

I believe the same problem exists with the graphing of number of hits in book / number of verses in book. Again the results returned are number of verses with hits in book / number of verses in the book times 100 to the 13th decimal point.

I agree the definitions are incorrect ie. it is the number of verses with hits and not number of hits. But the results in 4.0c are a percentage suitably rounded. I've created a report at http://wiki.logos.com/Bug$3a_Definitions_in_Graph_Bible_Search_Results_are_inaccurate which you can change as necessary.

It is important for the definition to be correct because the Graph titled Number of Hits in Chapter is exactly as described!

Are you saying that when you run a graph, the results do not have 13 numbers after the decimal point?

Here is what Ken is talking about:

It represents the percentage of verses in that chapter that have hits. It could be rounded better and be labelled with a % sign. Plus the graph label should say "percentage of verses with hits", instead of what it does.

I've reported that the name of that option needs to be revised to "Number of Verses with Hits in Chapter / Number of Verses in Chapter." I will also submit a request to add an option to round the percentage to 2 decimal places. To workaround this, you could Export to Excel, select the cells/column with percentages, right-click and choose Format Cells. Then on the Number tab, choose Number, change Decimal Places to '2', and click OK.

Thanks. If you did not do so, could you also report the problem with the label for the graph of number of hits in book / number of verses in book? Again the results returned are actually number of verses with hits in book / number of verses in the book times 100 to the 13th decimal point.

My hope is that eventually L4 will have a graph option portraying number of hits in book / number of words in book, as in Logos 3. I used that frequently in L3.

That option has been reported for renaming, too. Thanks. There may be some users who want to see more decimal places for the percentage, so my request was for an option to change it to two decimal places.
