Personal Book footnotes format
Any idea why, when the footnotes are in English numerals in the Word document, are converted to Roman numerals in the personal book?
Is there a way to fix this?

Hmn ... I am not sure to what you are referring. It all seems to work fine for me in my Logos.
The Word document looks like this:
The compiled PB looks like this:
The text fonts and formatting in PBs is limited to certain fonts, thus it is advisable to use commonly used fonts in the Word docx document (such as Arial, Times Roman, etc) consistently throughout the document. Perhaps the fonts used in your Word document do not convert 1:1 with the fonts currently set in program settings for Logos ?Wolfgang Schneider

when the footnotes are in English numerals
Just to verify, you are sure they are footnotes not endnotes?

Sorry--they are indeed endnotes. My brain lumps them all together...

You can set the type of number to be used for footnotes and endnotes in Word, it will then be shown in the compiled PB.
In Word you open the options dialog for footnotes, endnotes in the "reference" tab ...
Here, most likely the number format for endnotes is set as default to roman numerals, in the screenshot above I changed that to "1,2,3,..." and upon recompiling the PB, the endnote was also shown as "1".(PS ... my Word is set to German, but I trust you can figure out the wording to find the proper items in your Word app even if it is in a different language)

That's what puzzles me--in the Word document, I had changed them to English numerals, but upon compiling the PB, it reverts to Roman numerals in Logos...

I just saw the end of your reply--I had left my Word document in Garamond font, because it had never posed a problem previously. Maybe that is the answer...
I will change the Garamond font to Times New Roman and see if that fixes it.

Changing to Times New Roman had no effect.

Could you make a copy of your docx document file which you use to build the PB available? it could help with trouble shooting and finding the cause for what you describe.

I'm not certain but I think PB's use Arabic numbers for footnotes and Roman numerals for endnotes so they are distinguishable. But it might be that I have done it that way myself for so long, I think it's a PB standard.

See my above screenshot of PB with both footnote and endnote; the same type of numerals are used for both after I set those numerals in Word. At first, endnotes had the Roman numerals because they were using these by default in my Word. Thus, for me everything works as it should, both type of notes use the numerals set in Word when compiling the PB.
The strange thing is that according to the original post the endnotes are 1,2,3,... in Word, but after compiling the endnotes are i, ii, iii, ... in the PB. Something there seems odd ... a look at the docx document file might provide a clue to determine the reason,

Warren, thank you for the sample file. I opened it in Word and noticed that your endnotes are set to use Roman numerals, and they are displayed in Word as Roman numerals (see following screenshot):
Thus, they are also found in the compiled PB book:Thus, the numerals format need to be changed in Word and then will also be compiled properly in the PB.
Another solution could be that you change all your current endnotes into footnotes, since these are formatted to use the numerals you would like to have.

That was odd, because on my end, it was still showing the English numerals. The settings were such that it was doing it "section by section" in Word, however.
I changed that setting in Word to "Entire Document" and that seems to have cured the problem.
Thanks so much for persevering in helping me get this cleared up.I am very grateful.
