Bible search (boolean) - no results

Using Logos 25.2.56 on Windows 11 Pro 22H2 (22621.1702), I get no results when I do a Bible search of All Bible Text in the NIV for:  baptism AND spirit

Screenshot below shows:
- Searching for  baptism  works.
- Searching for  spirit  works.
- Searching for  baptism AND spirit  finds nothing.

Match case is off. (Using Spirit makes no difference).
Match all word forms is on.
Reference matching is default.

No indexing is in progress.
Running the command  Reindex NIV  made no difference.
(Rebuild Bible Index no longer seems supported.)

Rebooting the laptop and deleting the Windows and User temp files didn't help.

The problem persists regardless of which Bible I search, though I found an exception: in the ESV, the search returns Acts 18:25 where baptism does occur and Spirit is found in a footnote.

Suggestions? TIA.

This is the correct result and indicates that there are no verses containing both words.

A search for baptize and spirit does return results - indicating that baptism and baptize are not treated as "matching words" for the matching forms check.

(Rebuild Bible Index no longer seems supported.)

With Logos 10, there is no longer a separate Bible index.

    Thanks, Graham. Solved.

You're right. My expectation was the only problem. The software is working as designed.

    Thank you for helping.

The concordance function shows you exactly what forms are treated as "match all forms". Irregular forms such as the s/z change frequently are not matched. Full function concordance builders allow the user to specify that words be combined i.e. the user could request that baptize/baptism be combined.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

Thanks MJ. That's a helpful insight.
