Not sure exactly what you are asking. I know the current version does not use my laptop's discreet graphics by default unless I configure it to do so, which I do not do because it just uses more battery for no perceivable performance gain that I have seen. If you asking about something else, please clarify.

How are you preventing it from doing that? The latest (or second-latest) update is now forcing my mac to use the discreet graphics card. It's murdering my battery life :(

I was just asking how L10 handles (or is handled by) a computer. Is all or primarily cpu, or does it draw gpu, too? Seems like the answer is...unclear. Also, this is a desktop thread, so I'm not concerned about battery issues.

Logos on battery is in the Logos Laptop App directory?

If not, then perhaps it ought. I used to use Logos primarily on a laptop, so I'm not deaf to such concerns, but I decided to go with a box sometime back and compensated for mobility with a tablet. I don't want the program to be limited by battery issues at the expense of utility. If there are system resource issues that hobble battery systems, then perhaps those could be turned off (and on) as needed.

I cannot answer for Mac, but laptop use of a discrete GPU is not required by Logos/Verbum. The default is "Let Windows decide" and it chooses the processor graphics engine. But I could force the app to use the discrete GPU or processor graphics.

Sorry for the late reply, I’ve been out of the country. That only allows you to force the use of the discrete card, if automatic switching is enabled, it will use the integrated low power card unless an app requests high performance graphics. Unfortunately, the Logos team has decided to force high performance mode now, and it is absolutely horrible to battery performance. 70% drop in battery life now.
