Notes Usage

Can I ask the long time logos users some guidelines in note taking when reading books. I am new to the digital platform of reading books like ex A W Tozer The Attributes of God, Systematic Theology and all of these resource, but I battle to find to system that when one reads the book and you find something that is related to scripture verse or verses, do you anchor that info you want to take from the book to the verse on your Bible or do you just create a notebook with books name and store what ever you got from the book in that notebook with book you reading name and not anchor it to the Bible. I will be great full if you could share some of the ways you are doing it with me to see if might work for me.

If it aids your study of a passage, select some text and anchor it to the desired Note (via Selected text). Select a few words as that acts as a link to the book at that point. If the book has references, like a commentary or encyclopedia, you can anchor it via Reference or Selected text.

You can create a Note by selecting text from any part of the resource and ensure it goes into the relevant Notebook. Then you can anchor it to a bible reference. You can track those in the Notes tool via Notebook name or Resource name (in the Filter sidebar).

But what is more important to you, studying bible passages (with references to books) or studying the book (with references to your bible)?

Hi Dave I forgot to mention that I only make use of mobile app and web app for logos. So let me explain to you as I like the info you have supplied, and maybe your answers will help me, who knows. So I have a lot of personal books that I want to work through and add them to logos. So for example I have the baker illustrated handbook of bible. Now I want to add that information i get and anchor it to my Bible in Logos. So would you suggest I create a notebook named after the book I am reading and anchor it verses in my Bible or do make a notebook genesis and all the notes from all my books that I read and get info in ref to Genesis and add it all under Genesis notebook. And then the ref thing you mentioned, in this book there are articles example The Covenants of The Bible, Other Flood Accounts in the Ancient Near East which this it comes from a book John H Walton wrote. So I cant find a ref to link these to.

Then the other thing I am trying to do is to use The New Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, now with this i want to add the cross reference related to a word ex Beginning and take those related verses and meaning of the same as in Gen 1:1 and add those in note, and then the meaning and root of the word in a separate note taken from Strongs. So all of these books i want to work through and add all info to my logos bible so that I can just open the revenant note on my bible. So how would you do this. Create a notebook Genesis and add all notes about Genesis in that notebook or create a notebook with the book I take it from as my books are physical books at the moment I want to work from so anchoring from them is not possible.

I would love to hear your thoughts and insights on this.
