Cut and copy not syncing on notes
I have been trouble shooting a problem I have with notes. If I cut a section of my notes and then copy it in a different place in the same note it does not sync. I have tested this with my linux install and two different windows 10 and 11 VM's (vmware and qemu). I would appreciate it if someone with a pure windows install would test this. It looks like this is a bug. I have been preparing sermons and bible studies in notes since 2009. Re-arranging is a critical part of my prep.

Its a bug. When you cut and copy the sync icon does not move. If you type something it syncs immediately.

When I cut and paste as you describe, sync happens immediately.

Do you lose the text you pasted? Does it reappear when you re-open the Notes tool?

When I reopen the note the text is where it was before I moved it. I can type and add text to the note and it syncs perfect. I am at a loss both my desktop and laptop are both having the same problem.

Its a bug
Linux and VM's are not supported platforms and, as Dave has shown, this appears to be a platform specific problem.

After years of using Vmware I have never had a piece of software not work as expected. I have fully updated windows 10 and 11 installs that have this issue. The sync icon does not spin when cut and moved. Its a problem and I am not sure what the problem is but the fact that it is a VM should not be it. Its a disappointing response but I will keep searching on my end

I understand. I have 11,389 notes and have been doing things this way since 2007. Its just frustrating. I will keep at it ... Thanks for responding

I think I figured it out. The note I have been working with had content from a 2013 sermon. The content I was rearranging was from that sermon. I am thinking the note format or font must be the problem. I am able to cut and paste this past weeks study without error.

It might be worth bringing the note to the attention of tech support to check that other old notes do not have the problem. If it is systematic, they can fix what they don't know of.
